Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

One of the best pizzas i’ve had while in croatia and desserts were unreal too! Staff and service was amazing very friendly and attentive! Not like other places we had visited. Quirky with the cinema seats too!

A beautiful ambiance. The setting and lighting and theme of restaurant is carried through from menu design to wall decor. The service was good. The menu offered a variety though small in choice. What would have been a very good evening was interrupted by other...guests with dog at table , cigars, cigarettes, etc. obviously important possible clients, investor, etc that had no regard for others. Our waiter tried to maneuver but a hard wall to climb leaving what should have been a golden gate evening with a stellar performance missing an academia nomination. There will not be a sequel. Some things are out of the owners hands.More

We stumbled across Kinoteca looking for shelter from a possible storm. The staff were so welcoming and moved tables to accommodate us in a covered bit of their beautiful courtyard (there is inside seating too). We discovered we had dined at their sister restaurant (Mazgoonfood)...the night before (which was exceptional) and Kinoteca did not disappoint… everything was wonderful- classical cocktails, delicious food and a stunning setting with helpful and friendly staff. We ate octopus salad, ceviche and zuccini roll for starters - the food has a bit of a twist and was so full of flavour. I had mussels for main (first time I’ve had without shells) and they were so full of flavour. We were a party of four and we cleared our plates. Shared desserts and they were equally as delicious and different to anything I’d had before- shout out to the Basil ice cream. It’s wonderful without being pretentious and great prices. We paid approx £58 per head- each having a cocktail, starter or dessert, main and wine! These sister restaurants are a must in Split and we will be back! Thanks to the team for a wonderful experience.More

Superb, authentic and peaceful location. High standard kitchen. We enjoyed a great lunch with self-made focaccia and bread, Dalmatian ham platter and melon soup. One of the best red wines I ever had.

Terrible dinner. Terrible service Food was totally gross. Ordered ceviche. It was room temperature and bad flavor. Ceviche should feel fresh. We also ordered steak, served completely raw. Horrible. Worst dish, the lobster. We got a very small shrimp terribly cooked. Do not eat here.

What a beautiful setting and the menu looked good, we were very much looking forward to our meal. The staff were accommodating and informative suggesting a wine to match (and not the most expensive one either). Oh my goodness we couldn’t have been more disappointed....Over priced, too salty, and we left hungry. We ordered the fish and to be honest we had had better the day before at Cicabella for half the price. Boring, bland and overpriced, sorry.More

Well this was an absolute disgrace of an excuse for a restaurant. Dalmatian cooking with a twist ??? The twist was you wait an hour for something that’s cold, not cooked, looks revolting and is totally inedible. If I was a chef I would be...embarrassed by what was served on our visit. This is no showcase for local cuisine there are plenty others doing far better than this offering. I understand that chefs have an off night but after reviewing Tripadvisor, after having been taken in by the amazing courtyard setting, it appears the chef has been having an off night since 2020. Such a beautiful courtyard and service staff trying their best to placate unhappy customers. Absolutely horrendousMore

Passed this restaurant a few times and it’s a lovely setting in a beautiful courtyard but unfortunately the food does not come up to standard. The starters were ok but the fish was inedible and over salty. The speciality chicken stuffed ravioli was undercooked and...the sauce tasted of nothing but fat. I’ve noted having read trip advisor that this was not a one off and seems to be normal. We waited for 90 minutes for our main courses which is not good. Complete waste of money for mediocre food. Lots of far superior restaurants in the area.More

I don’t quite know where to start as this was truly the worst meal I have ever had the misfortune to TRY and eat. The starters chosen were a Dalmatian style egg can’t begin to describe what the grey matter was that was served with...it, vile. Prawns three ways was passable. The mains were totally inedible a pasta ravioli filled with pulled chicken-called Tingul Manusa. Pasta was raw and cold and the chicken wasn’t heated through, all served in some sort of fatty jus sauce. If I hadn’t been going home I would have happily come in and made the ravioli from scratch myself, stuff it and cooked it and shown the chef how it should be done and presented in a way not to resemble a bowl of red gloop. As for the amber Jack fish served on lemon cream, salicornia, lemon gel and some green pesto that tasted of a salt mine was positively horrible. The fish was steamed and still had its skin on and therefore was totally slimy under its wrapping of some inedible green vegetable. I was told that the chef wouldn’t accept the complaints as this is quote “how it was meant to be” Sorry guys this was a total joke, plus everyone in the restaurant waiting an hour plus for service tells me there is massive issues within your kitchen. A 10% discount was offered on food that wasn’t eaten and actually couldn’t be eaten. I paid as I know the industry has struggled after Covid but just because the chef says thats how it should taste doesn’t mean it’s right and positive complaints should be recognised and addressed. This was a totally shocking food experience and please, if you read this, go anywhere else and not here. I’ve eaten at Mazgoon their sister restaurant and the food there was first class and we enjoyed everything. Maybe the chef at Kinoteka should take a lesson from the cooks at Mazgoon as tonight was a howler of a meal.More
