While I did not come to a Mayan town by a giant lake in Guatemala to find Middle Eastern food, I couldnt pass up the chance to at least try Zoola which had a good rep. The restaurant is connected to a hostel and bar that seem to function somewhat separately. Any case, they have quite an extensive menu and... More

Can't believe we only found this on our last night in Antigua. Great atmosphere with relaxed seated area. After recommendations we tried the Combo for main which was amazing! Was more than enough to feed 2 people. We had an amazing dessert of molten chocolate cake, ice cream, caramelised banana and Oreos. Left with a very full and happy tummy.

What I love about Zoola Bistro is its ambiance so unlike any of the restaurant in Antigua. From entering the door, you walk into a big mural like the artwork on the wall and the courtyard is spacious with dreamy hanging lamps and lazy lounging seating with pillows. It felt like we left Central America and flew in a blink... More

The restaurant is in the patio (covered) of a hostel, where mostly young Israelis hang out. There are a few tables, but mostly, the young people sit on cushions on the floor and eat from low tables.

A great oasis for the weary traveler. Zoola has a super-relaxed vibe, with most of the seating being cushions on the floor in a courtyard setting. (We didn’t go up to the terrace) The staff are friendly and service was quick initially. The menu was extensive, with a good range of vegetarian options and the middle eastern style made an... More

During a quick stopover in Antigua, I grabbed dinner here. I had a vegetarian burrito of some kind that was delicious, and very reasonably priced. Nice courtyard environment with tasteful music.

This place has a very inviting atmosphere and you are tempted to order another drink just to watch the people staying at the hostel. My girlfriend had hummus, which was good, I chose the kebab and was a bit disappointed as the dough was quite thick and dominated the taste.

Excellent menu, with a decent selection of vegetarian options. Found it slightly uncomfortable sitting on the floor, but it's an integral part of the experience they're offering.
