I had jambalaya and the waiter recommended a well paired wine. The seafood was fresh, the spices were delicate and spicy at the same time, and the wine did a good job highlighting the food. I like this place but have noticed if you go late the crowd gets college-y and students start to fill the bar. Also the bar... More

Lovely but pricey pre-fixe menu for graduation weekend. $45 each plus coffee, drinks, etc. Tip added. Well seasoned chicken and this main courses but the kale salad needed work (too tough!) And the veggies did NOT cut it. Sauteed carrots with peppers. Huh? With all the great choices available. Mushy. Yuk. Their signature dessert is fairly flavorless but they have... More

Stopped here while in Amherst visiting my alma mater, UMASS, and then going to Holyoke for work. Was planning to go to Judy's which I remember from my time at UMASS....but saw this just down the street and thought to try it. Loved it. It was quiet during lunch, and I was even sat at a 4 seat table in... More

Went last night for a girls night, charged a $10 cover, told there was dancing, awful drinks, then told inside that the dance floor only opened when the bar was full (left at 11 bar was never close to full) however they let certain people onto the dance floor and not others. What a rip off and a horrible way... More

Tried this restaurant only because I purchased a gift certificate through work. I saved it for my birthday dinner. We went in with no expectations. We walked in and the atmosphere was very nice. This is a great place for couples, for friends getting together for drinks, food, etc., a great place for a special occasion, business lunch, it can... More

All four of us had excellent appetizers. The meals were delicious but a little small . There are a few seats in the front dining room and more in the back, but the ambience in the front is cozier. Check out the days they have oyster appetizer specials. They are delicious and the price is right.

My family and friends always enjoy the inviting atmosphere, excellent service and great food at Bistro 63. I have especially enjoyed the pasta dishes, seafood selections and the tasty desserts.

Standard restaurant fare well prepared; however, to access the Bistro and Monkey Bar by wheelchair is difficult as you have to climb a set of stairs from the parking lot. Alternatively you can wheel to the end of the parking lot and eventually get to the front door, which is what we did. When we have snow, that is also... More

Bistro and Monkey Bar are stalwarts of Amherst dining for many years. Standard American dishes with occasional ventures into its original excellent Italian foods and some French influences. 4pm to 6 weekdays their fresh oysters at $1 apiece are an outstanding special. Fine bar, decent waitpersons, not always highly experienced.

I met a colleague there, first time - one of the best cheese burgers and fries I have had in a long time!
