I would have rated this poor based on the length of time it took our food to arrive (over an hour) but I have to assume that it was an anomaly. As a point of reference, our group arrived slightly after the normal lunch rush...More

The food was very good, but our waitress brought our food and only returned to bring the check. I tried twice to get her attention for a drink. Her loss.

This establishment was nearby where we were staying, and offered something other than the standard chain restaurants in town. The staff were friendly, as was our server, who brought us our beer, then our food, then brought the check and said "no hurry." We noted...More

We had dinner here at the recommendation of our hotel. I tried their pumpkin ale - very good. We also tried a special, Irish nachos - also delicious. We also tried Shepherd's Pie, a Mexicali Burger, and a haddock burrito. All choices were very tasty.

Gritty McDuff's, Maine's Original Brew Pub specializes in hand-crafted English style ales and traditional and creative pub fare, in a friendly and fun atmosphere. Both Gritty's fine ales and the pubs have won countless "best of" awards through our twenty-five years of operation. Our standard brews are session beers, Gritty's Pub-Style Pale Ale, McDuff's Best Bitter, Black Fly Stout, allowing one to have multiple beers within a reasonable time period without overwhelming the senses. Our seasonal and varietal ale offerings are more adventurous, some with a higher ABV, and some with higher IBU. We brew a beer for all craft brew palates. For the diner, we offer traditional pub fare alongside not so traditional specialty items. Our pub-style long tables with benches easily accommodate parties of all sizes and add to the camaraderie.
