If you want to try real Bulgarian cuisine and immerse yourself in a traditional Bulgarian atmosphere, this is the place. The food is superb, there are Bulgarian folklore dancing and fire-dancers . At the foot of the mountain, very beautiful place, which is visited by many foreigners. You must make reservations in advance, because despite the large number of sites... More

The surroundings are fantastic, right next to the mountains. Ideal for lunch after a good walk in the woods on the side of the mountain. The menu has all the typical Bulgarian dishes and is seasonably priced, the food was good and the service was efficient.

The mountains that surrounf Sofia must be explored. While there it is worth checking in Restaurant Vodenitzata nicely hidden in the mountains. Food is traditional and nothing special but the setting makes this restaurant

Pricey, quality of the food is bad, service is not great (especially in the summer when it's busy). I like to try a restaurant a couple of times before I give final judgment, I've done so with this one and must say I will not repeat the experience again.

Although it is near many hiking paths the average tourist would not hear about or visit this restaurant. Once you find it it checks all the boxes. Great food, great service, wonderful unique ambiance, wonderful wine selection (local Bulgarian) and no rush to turn the table. You will feel like family. It is up the mountain but go out of... Went with a group of friends while visiting Bulgaria. Place is beautifully decorated, service is prompt, staff is friendly and fun, and the folklore music and dances were beautiful (they even let me join them for a short dance). Stick to the traditional dishes, and don't be tempted by the specials. A little pricey in local terms, but worth it... More

This little pearl lies right on the foot of vitosha mountain and it is so cozy and genuine. Food is super tasty and the service really nice.

During our visit to Sofia in the summer, we decided to hike in the Vitosha mountain side. Although there are buses, we opted for a taxi which was approximately Lev 12. Followed the road round the mountain side at first and then followed the signpost but unfortunately we ended up at the stone rush so the signs were completely useless!... More

On our way up the mountain the 93 bus dropped us off close to this restaurant. We were a group of 5 couples and in need of lunch. We mostly opted for the local soups and bread and they were some of the best that we had tasted and the hot bread was very tasty. Service was excellent and the... More

Highly recommend this place for foreigners. At this place you will enjoy either the food and the good service. "Vodenitsata" is ethno-oriented restaurant with great traditional food and pleasant staff. Only the location could be a problem because you need a car to reach it.

Thank Aleksandar S
