About
The Singing Nettle brings the feeling of home to your table. We offer a variety of traditional Bosnian dishes, some unjustly forgotten in today's gastronomic offer of other restaurants, as well as those prepared with nettle in particular, alongside other wild herbs from nearby mountains and fields. The offer is seasonal so the ingredients vary depending on the time of the year, and we strive to revive the use of neglected and autochtonous foods which were so beloved by our proud ancestors. The method of preparation also follows those principles, so many dishes are prepared through slow-cooking for many hours. Our entire menu is readily available for your enjoyment.

Went today for Dinner, the red house wine is delicious & full-bodied. We started with the hummus and cottage cheese with Bosnian Doughnuts - which were amazing. The doughnuts are round bread with a crusty exterior and warm soft interior, the hummus is one of...the best I've ever had. We followed with the cinnamon & honey veal, and mezzemoul with pesto, walnut, beef - both were delicious. Each dish had a homemade feel but an elevated mix of herbs/taste. The service was amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant to all. So good and the for what you can find in the area, the price is really on point!More

We spend the day before yesterday in The Singing Nettle. The two dishes and starters we had were very fine & tasty. We had some home made bread & olives + one bosnian kind of ravioli filled with vegetables and herbs and stuffed vegetables. Both...were of excellent taste and absolutely 100% selfmade and fresh. If only I'd live closer, I'd go there regularly. Additionally you have to say that the people that work there have a fine humor and are very friendly and helpful. Plus the restaurant is so nicely furbished and when we were there they played well fitted music in this beautiful and atmospheric place. Highly recomended for anyone. And vegetarians.More

I never heard of a nettle. I have no idea what it is but we had this ingredient in our dishes for dinner. Our tour leader highly recommended this place so we all went. Nobody was disappointed. The restaurant had a nice ambience and the...owner was very pleasant.More

During our last day in Sarajevo we visited this restaurant, primarly because of the great reviews on tripadvisor and a good location. The least we could say is that the restaurant exceeded our expectations. First of all, I would like to share the fact that...this place is for everyone’s wallet. Secondly, the food is amazing, there is an option for every posible taste such as traditional food, gluten free, vegan and vegetarian. We’ve had one vegetarian dish and one traditional meal made in a unique way. Both were out of this world! The owners (Aida and Sabina) are the nicest people we’ve met - really friendly and helpful. They made our evening. We are 100% sure that we will visit this place again whenever we come to Sarajevo!More

We had 3 Different dishes, and we coulndt decide wich one was better. The spices are phenomenal, combined with fresh, local, organ ingredients. Sabina (the owner) is the nicest Person you can imagine, a genius when it comes to cooking, and so warm and outgoing,...that you feel like home. I recommend this place to everyone visiting Sarajevo, you wont ever forget this ExperienceMore

I do not usually write reviews on here but this restaurant is a must visit vor everyone who loves an authentic Bosniak meal in an absolutely marvellous atmosphere! The menue offers a great choice of traditional Bosniak meals and a great diversity of meat, vegetarian...and vegan options. There is even some gluten free dishes. The food we tried was absolutely delicious and the place has a lovely atmosphere (the walls are painted with an old rolling technique that you will also find in the home of your average Bosniak grandma). Last but not least, Sabina who owns the place is a super lovely person. Entering the restaurant as tourists and strangers, we left with a feeling of having visited Bosniak friends for dinner and actually got a big hug from Sabina before we left. Overall, you will get the best food and atmosphere all across the balkans! P.S. Some people might complain about having to wait a little bit for their food… we also had to wait for a bit but enjoyed every minute of it as we knew we would get fresh and homemade food!More

Terrible service. We made reservations at 8. When we arrived (2 mins before 8) we were told to come back in half an hour. We obliged and had drinks elsewhere. 30 mins later we once again arrived at this restaurant. We were allowed to take...a seat (so thankful). 20 mins later someone finally took the time to take our order. By this time it was around 20.50. Fast forward one whole hour and we’re still waiting for our starter. Two couples who arrived later than us have already had food. One couple even had starters And mains by this time. This restaurant should’ve been a welcome treat of healthy food in a holiday full of big chunks of meat. Instead it became the. Worst. Experience. Still hangry while writing this review. Still waiting on my grilled veggies.More
