Ate here for lunch on Thursday. My bf ordered the criollo ribs and was served bbq ribs. Server refused to change to what he ordered, even though we repeated the order multiple times. Waiter was too busy flirting w a customer and hanging w the other staff to do his job professionally. My burger didn't have any flame grilled taste... More

Our breakfast there was included with our room next door at Hotel Cuenca and was very adequate but.....we decided on dinner and the dinner for two was huge! Very well presented, fresh off the grill and we had to take half home. The wait staff was very attentive

If you are moderate price hotel bound, and need to eat on site, Carbon suffices. The menu is tempting but they never seem to get the parrilla grill to obtain the right temperature. Wine menu is very limited and pricey. As we were leaving Cuenca permanently, our explorations of new eateries had ceased. This set of dining experiences at Carbon... More

We went to have dinner at this place. Restaurant was full and they made us wait for 45 min to finally tell us they were out of food. This place is a joke no question!

Arriving to Cuenca we decided to eat at this reataurant. At the front doors even before asking for a place to seat, server told us very unpolitely that we cant eat the meal because the kitchen is colapsing. Not even any easy word to say "perdona". Straight rude way of treathing clients. This place can not handle anything, on the... More

Most restaurants attached to hotels are just OK; however Carbon has a huge grill in front where all the meet is grilled in front of you. Ribs, if available are terrific as is the rst of the Ecuadorian menu. Recommend anytime.

Service was poor and food didn't come as advertised. The meat was OK, but overall it seemed overpriced compared to other food we've had in Cuenca.

Guess it had to happen sooner or later. A year since my last review, prices have been raised. Still the same great food, but my $16 deal is now $24.

Local Ecuadorean flavor! Best deal is the "almuerzo ejecutivo" which is the lunch portion of the regular menu served at lunch for a fixed price. My favorite is the junior Churrasco for lunch served with white rice, fried eggs, grilled vegetables, avocado and fries; served with fresh juice all for $3.50! The hamburguesa - burger simple is a juicy tasty... More

The hamburgers were huge but ordinary with excessive toppings. Potatoes were not french fries but deep dried chunks, crispy outside but mushy inside. Capucchino was cold--when I sent it back, the waitress took it to the kitchen at the back, added something hot (milk? water?) and brought it back. No foam, but she insisted it was capucchino. Good clean bathroom... More
