When I can't make it to New Orleans I come to Quito to get my New Orleans "fix". Po' boys and barbecue shrimp. Over the years I have never had a bad experience at Cafe Dios No Muere. Mathieu runs a tight ship and it shows. Sit back, listed to some jazz and enjoy.

Café Dios No Muere is located in San Marcos, one of the best places in the historical center of Quito, it is also close to La Ronda and Plaza de Santo Domingo. The food is a rich fusion between Louisiana's Cajun cuisine and Ecuadorian traditional cuisine. The mix of these two types of cuisine is amazing. We have visited Café... More

The location is nice as well as the space. However the food quality is rather poor and the price far too high with respect to the quality. It might be a nice place for a coffee, but there are several farbetter alternatives for dinner or lunch.

We stopped by for a quick break and to refresh. I ordered a black tea with cold milk separately (in perfect Spanish), my partner ordered a cafe mocha. Although the waitress seemed to accept this she then returned to retake the order, and we once again explained what we wanted. 15 minutes (15!) she returned with the wrong order. I... More

This place can be found behind the old monastery of Santa Catalina. Here you can taste some influences from the American South. The Shrimp was delicious. Very comfortable and warm atmosphere.

The place itself is really unique and cozy. The service was a little hit and miss and to be fair the waitress was new and hadn't worked in a restaurant before but that wasn't a problem. My dish was off the main menu and was good. However, my husband ordered the fillet mignon. Whilst waiting for this there was a... More

A lovely little pub/restaurant. Really small place with tables outside and up on two floors. Only a few tables so I imagine they fill up quickly at busy times. We had an early dinner at 17:30 after a long day of travelling and there were already several others filling table having dinner. The food is good, but it seems to... More

We stopped in this adorable place for some drinks & snacks. We had choices to sit outside or 2 of 3 levels. Small, quaint, welcoming. We spent 3 hours in this comfortable place. We asked the owner what he recommended for drinks & appetizers. The appetizers were yummy & the drinks were special. We had a fabulous time. The owner... More

I am super excited that they get most of their food from the organic farm they own. The place is right in the middle of El Centro and has absolute ambiance.

I have given this place many chances, and there was always something wrong. First raw chicken that the owner somehow compensated with some giveaways. Then the beer quality each time getting worse and worse until today when it was stinky and undrinkable. When we went to put in the manager's attention this situation, the person got angry and beligerant. Its... More

Unfortunately....I was not there. but based on what my son and my wife have told us...we have had problems with you before. We apologize if I have a mistaken indentity. but...according to them...you have come before with your friends bringing thier own food! Imagine that....coming to our restaurant and brining your own food. And...you have complained about things before. You... More
