Today 30th november I discovered this iconic restaurant in Little India, staff are friendly, polite. I ordered palak paneer and kashmer nan, plus masala tea. Excellent taste and not spicy as I asked. million thanks for that. Very clean and organized place as well. Location...is also practical, metro statio is just 200 meters away and beautiful temples to visit. Aasif the waiter is very correct, he explained to me clearly the food, according to my preferences, as vegetarian girl. Amazing treatment. Wish to come back soon and enjoy their food and good vibes. 💫More

I’ve been thinking a lot about my recent experience at the Banana Leaf Apolo, and it was nothing short of a religious experience. Being from the West Indies, I’m no stranger to the masterful use of spices that the subcontinent has to offer. But I...can say, without hyperbole, that this was the best Indian food to ever touch my lips & my soul. The servers, Aasfin and Dhruv were warm, kind, and helped us pick out several amazing dishes (though I plan on going back to continue my journey). The space itself is large and unassuming, and while some might think the dishes are more expensive than what you’d expect—I’ve never spent my money more willingly. Forget any other review you may read, don’t walk but RUN to the Banana Leaf Apolo and have them change your life like they did mine.More

I was on my business trip to Singapore and was really missing Indian food. Let me tell you, this is a place to be. The food is great, the wait staff is very courteous and prompt. Shout out to Aasif, he was great with his...suggestions and impeccable service. Will always go there if and when in Singapore.More

We have eaten at many Indian restaurants in the US. We enjoyed our visit here. We had tandoori chicken, chicken vindaloo and palak paneer. We thought is was pretty good. You have to order and pay on your phone, but there is no wi-fi. They...were pretty accommodating. The food came very fast.More

Food served is a disappointment. Overcooked and pre-packaged. For the price you pay there are other options on the market. It is more catered for the tourists who like to have a fare of Indian but a more “watered down” version of it or those...who like it devoid of spices and flavours to suit their tongues. Standards has dropped similar to some illustrious erstwhile restaurants in the Race Course stretch. Best to go off the beaten track to see the smaller outfits which stick to the basics in terms of quality of the fare served.More

We had prawn biriyani, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala with butter naan, Kashmir naan and garlic cheese naan. All the dishes was better than we expected and the staff there was very professional and kind. We had an overall good experience.

Won't be eating here again. The food prices are ridiculous. $8.30 for a piece of fried fish? That's crazy! Even with inflation, that's crazy!

The Banana Leaf Apolo on 54 Race Roadis promoted online and in press as the best fish head curry dish in Singapore. We visited this restaurant for a lunch. We asked if they have a mixed starter dish which would allow to try different tastes,...but they did not have, just everything separate. We ordered as per menu: 1. VEGETABLE SAMOSA. Deep fried pastry with savoury filling of potatoes and vegetables - samosas were not hot freshly prepared but cold, bite size tasteless something’s. 2. CRISPY ONION PAKORAS Deep fried batter snack made of besan flour, spices and onions - pacoras were not hot or freshly prepared but cold and dry. 3. GOBI 65 Deep fried marinated cauliflower florets with Indian spices - gobi 65 though was freshly fried but represented tiny single parts of the florets and therefore over fried and too crispy. 4. Signature dish - APOLO FISH HEAD CURRY (MEDIUM) Fresh fish head submerged in a robust curry stew along with our authentic spices & assorted vegetables including okra, tomatoes and eggplants - Fish head was not fresh but refrozen probably a few time before cooking as after cooking tasted like rubber. Only hint of vegetables was present in the souse and in addition server forgot to bring saffron rice which we ordered, so spicy curry almost was not possible to eat. In addition on their site you can see every of above dishes presented in nice dishes beautifully arranged, however when dishes appear on your table it is simply in simple dish without any arrangements or cultural aesthetics. It was not possible to get attention of the servers, somehow they floated through the restaurant space avoiding our table and even when someone would come and listen to our requests for rice they would disappear till we finally just walked to cashier and pay the bill and walked out. We have no idea how such food and service could come to attention of press and have some positive online reviewsMore

I got food poisoning from this place. The food looked great and tasted okay but meat was dry and didn’t taste fresh. If you have an easily upset stomach I would avoid. I am Indian and would normally be fine with this kind of food...for context.More

Been here a few times over the years. I always regarded it a must go to for Singapore. one of he places I always recommended you go here, along with Jumbo seafood for chilli crab. We had the fish head curry, its was a little...sourer than I remember, I think because the usual condiments that used to get dished up the moment you sat down were missing. Didn't really think to ask at the time. Might look for another fish head place next time I go to see of there is better???More

Tried this branch as we were visiting this country after 2 years. Food was good and the lamb shank is tender and tasted great. Their fried fish could be a little spicier but overall it was a good expenence. Staff was efficient although it was...close to 9pm.More

Went there around 2pm on a Saturday for lunch. There was NO proper covid 19 distance marking on the floor or proper system for queuing. I queued behind group of 5 pax. Another couple joined us shortly but stood elsewhere. The staff then came out...and ushered them in INSTEAD of coming out to check who queued first. Left the restaurant in anger. Not going back again.More
