Great Service at the Cafe

Decided to have a staycation at the Orchard Hotel. Bought the package with the premier room with high tea. The high tea was left to be desired...Room was nice but there was no bottles water in the room, had called down to the operator and took about 25mins and two calls for it to be sent up. Found long strands of hair in the room. Feedback minibar was not cold as was trying to chill my drinks asked for some ice but got a reply it was chargeable. In the end they had replace the mini fridge and sent a couple glasses of ice foc, props to he operator forgot her name. Check in was great and the staff was very knowledgeable her name was Sara. Breakfast was great. Tina was wonderful and willing to help and proactive. Breakfast was the saving grace for this staycation.

I have been to Orchard Cafe for a couple of times, but it was a first for the semi-lunch buffet. The spread of the appetizer was decent ranging from local eats to international food. For the main course i got the salmon fillet and the ribeye steak. I have nothing but full of praises for the both of it. Both of the the main course was cooked to perfection, the ribeye steak cooked to my preference of medium and the salmon steak soft and moist in the inside and crispy on the skin. I enjoyed the whole dinning experience in orchard cafe and the service was marvelous especially Tina Soh the manager deserves extra recognition. She provided good service and checked on us frequently to know if the food suits our tastebuds. Great Job and keep up the good work!!

Our family’s recent dining experience at Orchard Cafe is really the best! 🌟👍👏👏🥳🥳🥳 At our mum’s birthday celebration, we enjoyed the Orchard Cafe’s high food quality, excellent service standard, overall cleanliness and pleasant ambience! We were well served by Tina and her service team members namely Jason, Yuki, Cecilia and Zhong Heng. The commendable service team members showed their warm hospitality, attentiveness and promptness during services. Tina even went extra mile for us by recommending Hua Ting’s special longevity buns to us which had certainly enhanced the whole birthday celebratory mood and experience! 🍑🍑♥️ As these longevity buns were delicately placed on a classic ornamental tree, they were amazingly beautiful! My mum was really impressed and she was so happy and overjoyed! Thanks Tina and your team for this great dining experience at Orchard Cafe! We’ll certainly be back for more! ❤️🌹🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👍👏👏🤩😘

Disappointed Birthday Dinner

Disappointed Birthday Dinner We had 2 tables for dinner at this cafe for my son’s birthday. It was the unlimited buffet order. We ordered the BBQ prawns, and many other dishes. The prawns was horrible plus terrible, it was like eating cotton. Feedback to the waiter to inform the Chef. Minutes later he return to inform us that the chef will feedback to the supplier that the prawns was not fresh. Half an hour later, my son who came later order the same dish. The plate of prawns was huge, thinking that the prawns should be better. But to our surprise it was also not fresh. The whole plate of prawns was left to be returned. Other dishes like beef and scallops was extremely salty. Very disappointed 😭, we paid so much but left with hungry stomachs. The slice of birthday cake was like eating chipboard.😭

Rude Kitchen Staff Jacky Denied me 2 western set for 2 guest (with $66 worth of breakfast for my room package)

Orchard cafe queue was super long, opted for takeaway. First, I went to dim sum counter. Lady infront takeaway asked for 6 ha gao, 6 siew mai, 4 char siew bun, fried noodle. I asked for much lesser, server face black black. Went western counter, asked for 2 set, chef Jacky questioned me "How many people do you have? Take so much". My tray at that time only had a dim sum pack. Jacky was very paranoid and impatient as there were 3 people behind me queuing up at western counter. I went to the juice counter and said 2 orange juice takeaways. Counter auntie said no takeaway was allowed here. Until I looked for their staff, she told me I needed to show my auntie the "takeaway tray". If not she won't allow it. But the counter auntie should have just told me that. My "takeaway tray" was with the other staff busy helping me put my food into the plastic bag. In the end, I dare not take food from the bakery and porridge and salad counter. In the end, I have to go nearby to buy porridge and some bread for my mother who needs some bread for her morning medicine. I would not patron Orchard Cafe anymore. If Orchard Cafe want to do business, do it generously. Not asking 2 guest to share 1 western breakfast set. And still have the audacity to question me, why 1 person taking so much, 2 western set, for the price of $33 per pax for breakfast buffet. This shows that the Cafe management condone such behaviour and allowed staff to question guest and denied guest to take what he or she deserves. This really leaves the impression that the orchard cafe is nothing, but stingy misery cafe restaurant. It also seems adequate training and customer service standard is enforced in this environment. As a kitchen server, Jacky should have MYOB and do his job, and not question at all. Worst !!! question a guest taking 2 western set when he was entitled to. In the end, guest dare not take porridge, bread, and salad.

Review on the poor quality of food for dinner buffet

I used to frequent this orchard cafe with my family and Happily brought my family back again yesterday and I am really disappointed with the quality of food they are serving to their customers with the price they are charging on the customers The Drunken prawn is not fresh at all, and mushy and the so call drunken prawn soup taste like salt water , the chicken wing is not even marinated at all, the spaghetti is not properly cook and hard to chew, the spare rib soup is Saltish and tasteless and the taste is no where to bah Ku teh .the oyster are much smaller and very little varieties. It is worst than coffeeshop Zhi char shop.

Phase 3 Birthdays with 7 pax

Capitalising on phase 3 controls, we had 7 pax to dine. The main dining area was under renovation, but we had no complains at the opposite end of the lobby at the bar. There was a nice long table that can comfortably seat 8 pax (max for phase 3) We started with the Cold Seafood Platter with crabs, sea snails, scallops and greens. We had the sushi-sashimi platter that was simply delightful (we chose salmon) The western platter had beef cheeks in mash (best dish) that melts in your mouth, honey baked ham with some pineapple, baked asparagus and pork meat. Another mouth watering dish was the cheese topped baked oysters ! The indian platter came complete with Nan and Chicken Tikka, Tandoori Platter (chicken, mutton, fish) and basmati jasmine rice. Chinese came with store fried seasonal vegetables, Chilli Crab was good , but no man tou ! A good selection of kuehs including their famous mango cake (awesome, we took home a whole cake) , shaved ice chendol and a whole platter of Durian based delicacies !

Birtday lunch at orchard cafe

Thank you for the lunch. I would like to compliment Cecilia for coordinating with me and accomodating to many of my requests especially in arranging an eggless cake for the birthday celebration. She was very professional. However, the service is very slow. We have to wait long for food to be served. Everything we have to call to be attended. No drinks were refilled. Overall, happy with the food. Thank you.

Great food & staff

Awesome variety of seafood, cooked asian and western cuisine, and wide spread of dessert selection. Their durian pengat is very tasty and the other food dont fall short of standard as well. The only downside is that only coffee tea and water is included but soft drinks are chargeable. Very attentive staff, a great buffet place! Thank you Tina and team :)

Buffet dinner at Orchard Cafe

Review is for a reservation made for a party of 4 under eatigo for 19/03/21. Had a family dinner at the hotel for the first time and was very pleasantly surprised at the food quality and service rendered by the team on duty. While the selection of items may not be as extensive as her hotels, the attentive service, quality of the food, interesting platters, as well as the plating of food served was impressive. The restaurant manager runs a tight ship and staff are helpful and efficient. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here.

Had staycation on 3rd April. Breakfast the next morning was changed to ala carte (with no second servings or orders) instead of ala carte buffet. Most of the staff were not clear on the what to do. We were faced with a lot of prompts from the staff asking if they can clear our plates, even as we barely sat for 10 mins and there clearly was food on the plates. Would like to recommend Tina Soh however. She seemed to be the only one being clear on what to do.

Short of staff but still serving with a smile and patience

I notice the short staff situation while staying for about 5 days. I am thankful that the staff though very clearly being short handed did their best to serve the food on time and tried their best to keep the customers happy. I spoke to Tina Soh and Kent (front office) and both were very helpful and polite. Well done and keep up the good attitude!!!

Buffet lunch at Orchard Cafe

Tina was very warm and friendly in attending to our table and our needs. The food and variety was quite wide and delicious too! The other service staff was also quite nice and polite. Cons: the chicken rice was disappointing - one would think a hotel in Singapore would be able to do decent chicken rice but their rice was hard and not fragrant at all and their chicken was just dry. A pity we couldn’t take the food ourselves due to the pandemic but would come back again!

Breakfast Buffet

The variety of food was minimum, the eggs were not seasoned. However, the food was not greasy at all which was good as I could eat another round of food. Were not given a bread knife and had to use the same fork I used for my main meal on the fruits as well, should have been given a small extra fork and a butter knife.

Buffet Lunch at Orchard Cafe

We visited Orchard Cafe for its Buffet Lunch in quick succession on 1st then 13th April. The reason is that the food menu is enticing, the service (Johnny) is sincere, and it offers great value especially when you are a millennium member. On top that, they also offer complimentary parking. Thus, it makes for a great weekday lunch getaway whete you can lounge and dine the hours away.
