What a fabulous warm welcome we had back for our second time at Bar Roque. Evelyn our waitress instantly remembered us and even our drinks order. She was efficient and attentive all evening with a warm and friendly nature. The fabulous and very talented chef Stephan came to greet us and made us some delicious flat bread as well as a couple of other amazing surprises!
The meal was absolutely outstanding (we all ordered the tenderloin steak) as mains and grilled haloumi and tuna tartare to start. The steak was cooked to perfection and the sides were also delicious.
Our host Maitre d for the evening was Nicholas Schwatz who went out of his way to make us feel really special and welcome.
We were made to feel like celebrities in this cosy and atmospheric restaurant which was extremely reasonably priced. We will be back very soon!

Everything we ate was excellent. I had a tasting menu that included ceviche scallops, lobster bisque, sea bass on a seafood/bouillabaisse risotto, and a chocolate fondant dessert. My wife had the clams with a ribeye main course. Everything was outstanding. I’m not sure I could recommend a favorite dish. I have the sense that the seafood was stronger overall - but maybe that’s because we ate so much more of it. Kudos to the chefs! Will be back to try the lamb shank, which looked delicious.
There’s some room for improvement with service though. Our water and wine glasses often ran dry and, because the staff kept the bottle elsewhere, we had to flag them down repeatedly to refill. There were also significant delays between dishes (it took 45 minutes to get the appetizer, for example).
The environment was also a little... strange. The restaurant was a bit too brilliantly lit for my taste. And the music selection could be a bit different. Don’t get me wrong, I love music from the 80s, 90s and 00s. But I think something besides Run-DMC’s “Walk this way,” Dire Straits’ “Money for Nothing”, and NSYNC’s “Larger than Life” (to name a few memorable songs) would have set a better mood.

I ordered delivery during this tough time in Singapore a beef wellington and ravioli royan as a side. I was skeptical at first about the beef being overcooked and i was proved wrong! The beef wellington was perfectly medium rare and the bordelaise jus has so much flavor in it that it lifted the entire dish up. I was extremely satisfied with how efficiently the process was but just wished they took credit card over the phone as an alternative mode of payment. Prices are extremely reasonable for the high quality you get. Highly recommend anyone who needs a bit of French flair at home without the hassle to give them a try.

Is this the most expensive piece of Chicken in Singapore ? Luxury Chicken? Corn Fed chicken? Happy singing and dancing chicken?
I get that it’s a luxury chicken, corn fed, free range, a happy chicken before it’s consumed by me, and yes it’s good but not imo $36 good.
You can get a proper steak for a dollars more and it’s overpriced, standing out like a sore thumb in the menu. Chef will probably tell you how amazing this Chicken is and you might listen to him and say ok...but if I come here again, and there’s no reason not to, it’s a nice place, steak only next time!

I usually always go there to have lunch/dinner with my friends and am never disappointed. The place is friendly, the food is amazing. Today I've decided to order at home (due to the circuit breaker in singapore) to celebrate Easter sunday with my family. The food arrived exactly on time, the portions were very generous on top of an extra gift for the event. The delivery man was polite and well manered. Highly recommend to anyone! Next week is Choucroute, one of my favorite north eastern french dish!!!

Nice place and waiter but the price/performance is bad. The baked potatoe with sour cream and bacon is a joke. Ordinary potatoes, not soft enough, messy. The ice cream; two scopes, small and half melted, very sorry looking, for a total of 20 SGD! Seriuosly they should really be ashamed over that! Total robbery. Meat is ok but not more. Red wine sauave below average. Sorry, nor impressed all and the price compres to what you get is ridicilous.

The food made in Bar-Roque was done deliciously. It always caused me to return home with a happy and full tummy, in some cases, a food coma.
There is a chill, warm and welcoming ambience dining indoors and out.
Service was wonderful as waiters were always ready to attend to your needs.
The owner, Chef Stephane and business partner, Nicolas, would greet me whenever I'd dine in at the restaurant and would never fail to make me feel at home.

An amazing experience for both food and service. Chef Stephane and his team together with Nicola and his team are so in sync, that my dining experience is always one to remember. The team shares stories about the food and wine they serve, and displays genuine care and concern for me and my guests each time we are there. Bar-Roque Grill is my favourite place to go to wine and dine whether with my family, with my friends or even to organise a party. If you have not been to Bar-Roque, you must make a trip there now. Don't miss out!

If you want starched tablecloths, tiny portions and snooty waiters go somewhere else.
Bar Roque is hands down the best value french restaurant in Singapore delivering hearty food with soul, generous portions, convivial hospitality and the most authentic product in Singapore. We left totally stuffed with hearts & bellies full. Thanks so much team for an amazing feast!

Bar-Roque is a French-style bistro with a focus on Alsatian dishes and their own cured meats including charcuterie. The food is hearty and flavourful. They frequently have themed menus. This visit coincided with their Hunting/Game Menu. Two dishes shown are Venison Pate and Venison Rack. The Venison pate en croute is a stronger tasting version of pate en croute. Venison rack was tasty - tender but with the plus of being lean. It went well with the red cabbage and port wine sauce. Both dishes were quite substantial, and I would consider good value given the amount of food one gets for the price.

My good friend and I had dinner at Bar-Roque last night. It was our first time to dine there.
The food were great as well as the service.
The lady, Jess, who took care of us throughout the dinner was great and proactive. We felt like she has her antenna up although she is invisible to us. I felt like I was at a luxury 5-star restaurant.
When my friend ordered the dover sole fish and expressed concern on bones, the waitress assured her that there wouldn’t be an issue when we need to remove the bone. There won’t be soft bones. But, a while later Jess approached my friend and offered to have the bones of the fish to be removed by the chef when it is being processed for cooking. Of course my friend accepted the suggestion gladly.
I chose the wagyu steak from their special dishes. Since I cannot take medium done steak, I always choose well done type although people always said well done beef steak is hard and is not nice. But, what I had yesterday was tender, tasty, and great.
Then, throughout the dinner Jess also observed when our drinking water was running low, she would come to refill our glasses.
She would also check in with us about the food.
When we ordered for raspberry sorbet, she confirmed, “One scoop of raspberry sorbet for you only?”
I replied, “We will share.”
Then we received two spoons.
It was the first time I had a service person to ask and clarify about dessert when there are more than one person dining.
It was such enjoyable dining experience at Bar-Roque. It is so heartening to see that the restaurant was still busy and applies two seatings during the pandemic. I wish them all the best.

The food was totally amazing, from appetisers to main courses and then ended off with desserts. They waited till we finished appetisers before proceeding to cook the mains, making sure the food is fresh and tasty. The house brand wine was actually nicer than expected, not too tannic.
The service from the staffs was especially commendable. One of the few places in Singapore that I feel it rightfully deserves the service charge. Love the place, will definitely return.

We visited again this fantastic French brasserie and steakhouse last night. Everytime we come to this restaurant we are always warmly welcomed by both owner Stephane and Nicolas. The service is always impeccable and friendly. They have a nice outdoor space which also features a bar area.
The quality of the food is amazing and not too expensive. From the tarte flambée to the beef Wellington, everything is pure bliss. Their meat is dry aged on-site and is amazing. Try their great cold cuts board too. If you are a group, you can also request Nicolas for a particular menu that he will taylor to your taste buds. The restaurant also features seasonal dishes like sauerkraut fiesta or game dushes.
In many instances and for regular customers, they have even offered flammenkuche or coffee on the house! Definitely a place to visit

Wow! What a great find. Worth the trip to Singapore. The best French cuisine since Paris. Excellent wine, food and service. We had foie gras from France, steak from Australia and awesome French wine. Huge range of wines from all over, but you can buy wine with over ten years age for an affordable price. The service was special, we felt like they knew us and really wanted us there. Both owners visited our table during the meal to check on us. Also a special shout out to Shasha, our server, she was great and made our time extra special. We will be back soon. Thanks for a memorable meal..
