The croissant is very good and crunchy. The size is standard. The favorite item is croissant kougman amman. It's butter, sugar and salt. The place is at the front of Tang On Orchard. Though it is delicious but trust me you only can eat 1 croissant at one time then you will be full 😄

Bakery set in the old Tiong Bahru neighbourhood . It's more modern than traditional - you won't find Kopi or Teh here but rather cappuccino , latte , tea etc and western pastries. The cafe is packed - let's make it jam packed - and need to be patient to get a seat . There are seatings along the 5... More

Love the croissant. They are to die for! Even their coffee is not bad. I've been to both and I have to admit, I actually prefer the one at Tiong Bahru.

This is a nice local cafe/bakery. It is in a very nice part of town, Tiong Bahru. The baked goods are good. However, the scones do not make my top list (reference point is Zingermans in Ann Arbor and Lagkagehuset in Copenhagen). The atmosphere is sort of hipster. The sound system is awful. It seems like there is only a... More

I always believe that croissants taste all the same and TIONG BAHRU bakery changed my perception. Their croissants are divine. Their chocolate KOUGN tastes heavenly as well. This Kougn was my first piece ever to tell you honestly but definitely not my last one -- that's for sure.👍 Don't just take my word for it, go grab one for yourself... More

As many people told me: it's true, the best croissants in town. Soft, buttery, sweet... as are most of the baked goods they have. Coffee is great, sandwiches also unusual and yummy. As a place, it's a kind of Tiong Bahru hipster hang-out. Only downside: it's pretty noisy and cramped inside.

Thank ghanbg
Management response:

Dear ghanbg, Thank you for your kind review! Have you heard of our new seating tables at the back? It is fully air conditioned and there is a mini library for your reading too. As they always say, the cool kids sit at the back. ;) We hope to see you soon again! More

Really like the baguette, the portion of the sandwiches/croissants are too much for me. Nice shop with seats for people to take a coffee break.

we had coffee and the aman pastry. I enjoyed the rich taste and aroma of the cafe latte but the best part was the delicious aman pastry. I could have more if not for my careful diet.

In the Tiong Bahru plaza there is a myriad of eateries and we came across "bun time" a takeaway eatery. They make fantastic food and particularly chicken buns the quality is great, cheap and they taste delicious its located on the ground floor on the right hand side near to the supermarket exit. enjoy

Celebrating Neighbourhoods

There’s always that special place in the areas we live.By habit or necessity, there are checkpoints where our paths converge, no matter where our days take us. These are the places where shared moments and experiences connect us – and they eventually come to mean far more than the function it serves.

A café doesn’t merely dispense coffee. Neither does a bakery simply cook flour and put them on sale. They are strongholds founded deep in the history of the area it dwells, built upon with stories shared within and around its walls. Where perspectives are challenged, broadened, renewed; and the future can be boldly envisioned with insight and belief. Where friends are made, dreams are shared, and love is found.

This unique confluence of the community drives us to excellence and new levels of inspiration in everything we do. We are dedicated to celebrating the individuals, embracing the stories and transforming the living space for people around us.

Staying in Tiong Bahru

Neighbourhood Profile
Tiong Bahru
Home to both local families and transient expats, Tiong Bahru is a fascinating mix of tradition and youthful creativity. Its status as a conservation area ensures that this little hub has charm and heritage on display at every corner, while the 1930s art deco architecture provides a glimpse of days gone by. Stock up on fresh tropical fruits at the wet market, browse high quality literature and children’s books, shop for interesting gifts and local fashion, or munch on bargain-priced hawker food as the aroma of frying noodles and fresh-brewed coffee wafts through the air. Cap your day with a massage and a latte, a glass of wine, or a pain au chocolat from one of the many busy bakeries. An afternoon in this vibrant and beautiful neighbourhood is not to be missed.
