When in Singapore you have to do a Singapore Sling at the Raffles, just for one hour take a seat in this 1920s style bar, enjoy the colonial decor, the nuts and the Sling. The staff are very attentive, the only downside is the $73...More

Ok you are at Raffles, ok it's historic and ok i'll pay 30$ for a Singapore sling because it was born here. But then have your food match these standards! Even if it's finger food and burgers, you should have a 5-star burger and 5-star...More

I loved visiting the National History museum to understand more about Singapore's history, and then went to experience a slice of it ourselves. The Long Bar is closed but I loved this bar anyway. Yes it's full of tourists doing the same thing, and the...More

This room was beautifully designed and decorated and was functional. The atmosphere didn't quite match this standard and having the Singapore Slings premade was a bit of a let down. That said, it was still worth the visit.

Raffles looks beautiful and is definitely worth visiting to enjoy the Colonial architecture. However visiting in order to savour a Singapore Sling and the history associated with them is really disappointing. The hotel is run like a Macdonalds or any fast food chain. The Sslings...More

Im refering only to the 'Singapore Sling Experience' here which is currently hosted in this bar as the long bar is being refurbished. Don't get me wrong, the hotel is a beautiful building and the bar is a great piece of colonial style architecture. If...More

With Long Bar undergoing restoration, our iconic Singapore Sling experience will continue to be served here. A light snack menu complements our renowned cocktail as well as an extensive list of other cocktails and spirits.

The Singapore Sling, widely regarded as the national drink of the country, was first created in 1915 at the Long Bar in Raffles Singapore by bartender Ngiam Tong Boon. It later went on to gain international fame and a century later, is still enjoyed around the globe. To learn more about the Singapore Sling, please click here.

Regarded as the oldest existing bar in its original location in Singapore, Bar & Billiard Room is an institution within Raffles Singapore. It occupies a standalone building built in 1896, and was the first in the country to have a lady bartender stirring up a storm in the 1920s. Inside, chandeliers hang down from the high ceiling and the floor tiles are replicas of the original. One of the five original billiard tables from the turn of the century can be found there, where guests are welcomed to play a round or two. Picture windows look out to the surrounding thick foliage, interrupted by elegant cast-iron frames that compose the terrace.
