Officially open at 10 PM, but better you go there before it (better at (PM) unless you will get so long queue. Pawon means kitchen in Javanese. It means you will queuing inside the kitchen. Its really has awesome taste different from the other Gudeg usually sweet, but this is not too sweet. Dine in is better than take away.

It's in the middle of nowhere when you try to get there at night (supposedly only opens at 10pm till they run out). When we got there by 1030pm on a Thurs night, chicken was already sold out. :( But dang, the food was good, very cheap and homely.

It open from 10pm (forget about your diet..but then again its holiday 😁😁) but you should get here at 9pm (at least hahaha) or you'll miss them (already sold out before 10.30 😁😁)... More

You really need to come here around 9.30 PM to queue for the Gudeg. I love the chicken, not to sweet and not to spicy. I saw a lot of Gojek ordering the food. So if you don't want to queue for around 1 hour, you better order it using gojek. Make sure you order it before 10.30 PM, because... More

It is remommended by tour guide. People say this is 'gudeg basah'. It is not sweet. They said this gudeg is very good, and very crowded. I went there at 9.30 pm. Late night dinner, open at 9.30 pm. It is crowded. You have to sat on the floor. My expectation is quite high for the taste, unfortunately it is... More

Gudeg, one of the most famous traditional food from yogya. The main ingredient is jackfruit. Pawon mean kitchen, that's mean serve by yourself directly to the kitchen. Don't ever think about comfy place , good servant, etc. It's about unique, taste and autentique

it was practically Gudeg, the iconic food from Jogja. but the restaurant, specifically the owner's kitchen (Pawon) is opened from 10 pm til drop, on these holidays usually didn't last long, it was around 11.30 pm and no more chicken available, eggs only. the taste plus the excitement of eating at that hour with friends were everything. always come early...
