We ate here virtually every night in Lhasa and for atmosphere make sure you're in the main bar and not the canteen annexe which is devoid of the Tibetan decor. A vegetarian meal for 2 with tea costs around £15-20. We found that we didn't...More

I went to House of Shambhala several times during my trip to Lhasa, both for meals and afternoons of tea drinking. The building is beautiful, large, and well-located (and easy to find!). There is a wide variety of food to try -- Tibetan food (yak,...More

A cozy little place in Tibetan decor. The food ist very good, but is rather Indian than Tibetan, with a few exceptions like the momos.

We had an early dinner at Shambhala so not difficult to get a table. The service was fast and friendly and the food good taste. Would be happy to come back if we have the chance to visit Lhasa again.

They also run a hotel for foreigners so don't expect to find locals here. The place is very atmospheric, has a nice rooftop place and the food is very nice (we especially liked the cheese momo). Staff speaks English and menu is English.

We all enjoyed our meals. But the atmosphere was super, felt very much like we were with Marco Polo. Good service.

Great restaurant. Very nice decor inside. Food was really good, a bit pricey but it was fine. Staff was ok, nothing special, Service was not to fast but worth waiting for it. Hidden gem of Lhasa restaurants.

We were taken here for a "typical Tibetan food experience" though we were served exclusively Indian or Nepali food, and not very good at that. The atmosphere is good and the service friendly, but there is so much better in Lhasa that I wouldn't bother...More

I think that most of the main courses were around 40-60 rmb and drink prices varied. A big container of tea (serving at least 4 people) was 30 rmb, large beer was 20 rmb. I would say expect to spend around 60-80 per a... More
