The Wonton was amazing, yes, the servings are small but the cost is as small. Service was good, the place was neat and the food good! Worth the trip!

Another over credit noodle shop in Hong Kong. Yes the wonton is nice, but again, there are many other shops in Hong Kong which do the same or better wonton shop with a cheaper price and bigger portion. Anyway, it located at the highest rent district of Hong Kong. most of the cost has go to the rent but not... More

Mak's used to be my drug of choice when I lived in Hong Kong. On the weekends I would be running errands around town and as much as I tried otherwise, I would always find myself seated in this crowded little joint hunched over a bowl of their scrumptious noodles with dumplings. My favorite are the pork and shrimp with... More

We sat down, placed our order and the food was served within 5 minutes! It was tasty and the portions were a decent size. The tea was hot and plentiful. I had the shrimp wanton noodles and they were good. Would go back for a quick lunch.

As others have commented the bowls are on the smaller side. This gave me a chance to get the shrimp wonton for one order and the shrimp pork for another. Noodles were perfect in texture. Springy and chewy. Beef brisket and tendon were excellent as well.

I have been a loyal fan of Mak's Noodle for the longest time. Their specialty noodle is so AL-DENTE (Q-Q), dumplings made from fresh ingredients, and the soup stock just absolutely mouth-wateringly DELUMPTIOUS! I always a dash of their special chili sauce and red vinegar to the soup and drink it to the last drop ... Yummm! Mind you, it's... More

This joint had been around forever in a narrow alley. Waitresses had pretty good attitude, the beef noodle soap was quite flavorful. You need to share the table with strangers, which is sort of a norm for small restaurants in Hong Kong. The cashier, probably the owner, was yelling at her staff and treated customers like dirt.

This is a small restaurant, with Chinese style service - fast and efficient, but not elegant. Perfect for dropping in for a quick bowl of noodles. There is a bit of a translation into English for the menu, though it was not too clear. Though, what can you expect from a small restaurant? It worked. I don't eat pork. Most... More

This was a MUST suggestion for my wife and I to COME HERE to eat..We were NOT disappointed, this was PHENOMENAL...This restaurant piqued our interest because Anthony Bourdain featured Mak Noodles on his show and it was AWESOME...The home made noodles and home made wuntun was incredibly delicious along with the baby wonbok cabbage dish with homemade oyster sauce....Oh My... Don't like the peak hour surcharge, think it's a bit rude. We weren't there during peak hours though Andy the staff were very friendly compared to other hk f&b outlets. Noodles taste so good, and the wontons are to die for.

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
