It's been a while since we last visited this place, the simple layout brings back all the good memories. Chef Imamura is always as funny and entertaining as he is, with his very good conversational cantonese. Many good fresh suggestions and UNI was at its best, especially the least expensive one which tasted exceptional. Also we tried one of those... More

I have visited the same restaurant maybe 6-7 years ago. A very typical Japanese restaurants. I had a set lunch, price from around hk$ 350 -$600 plus, add on 10% service charge. Set lunch will include a small Japanese appetizer, steam egg, miso soup, ice cream as dessert, plus the main dish. Mind you, the whole restaurant will not serve... More

very original and creative Japanese food prepared wholeheartedly by Chef Imamura. I have been for many times and Imamura san never disappoints. Top notch ingredients and excellent executions.

This guy knows how to make sushi! Best sushi I have ever tried (have not been to Japan yet though). Everything is hella fresh, and you get to try numerous different kinds. The chef is kind and takes his time to explain anything you ask.

Imamura San (boss / chef) always so innovative and brings out the best in sashimi and sushi. We had over 20 types of sashimi / sushi in one dinner and we love each and everyone dish. The restaurant is always full and needs to book well in advance and must ask for sushi bar as it is best to see... More

One of the best Sushi experience I have. Simple, but best quality. (see the posted pictures of every single sushi) Was invited by a friend for lunch. Most probably you have to pay a little bit more than other regular sushi bars. But I think it is worth. Next time when I am here in HK, definitely again!! Reservation definitely... More

This was actually one of my best sushi experience! Go there and ask Imamura to prepare special sashimis and sushis. You will never forget this moment. I am eagerly waiting for going back there.

Recommendations by Imamura san is usually very good but may become a quite expensive bill in the end. Seasonal delicacies certainly and sometimes you may get these exotic little life baby sea eels as a starter. If you are prepared, recommendation by the chef is better than making selection by yourself. However, the charges may seem discriminating because Locals are... More

On the 16th floor of Sogo Building, Tunglowan. Conveniently located. Service average. Sushi, not so good. Generally overpriced.

Showy boss, typical of Japanese sushi bars, great sushis... probably expensive as I was invited by a friend.

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
