The congee texture if not what I expected. Doesn’t seems like a traditional Cantonese style of congee (you can see the 3rd photo). Most tourist dining in when we were there. There’s even menu in Thai sticks on the wall. One of the female staff...More

With a distinct bare-bones diner feel, and a steady stream of speed-eating locals, this rudimentary eatery really delivers on the key ingredient - congee! A glass of luke-warm tea and a bowl of congee were all it took. Staff comes by with another glass of...More

We ordered the scallop congee and the texture was very smooth and flavorful. We ordered Chinese cullers and a plate of fish skin. The latter turned out to be raw which was unusual for us. Good place for a bowl of congee.

Well, it's a local eatery. So I didn't expect much before going. What I wanted was a bowl of good wonton noodle. The place was crowded with locals and tourists. Upon entering, I smelled something like kerosene. The smell didn't go away the whole time...More

We visited second time after 2 years ago. The porridge still remain good taste. Nicely cooked, smooth and frangrant. Best recommended is fish porridge and pork intestine porridge.

When in HK better head out to a congee place for breakfast if you’re tired of McDonalds. A healthier alternative plus a taste of the local experience. This place is good - they have an english menu for travellers like myself.

Worth trying once and also because I stayed at the hotel nearby. It's quote pricey for congee. Overall, taste is good.

This restaurant is just in front of where we stay, so why not give it a try. We ordered 4 bowls of congee, and they were all taste so good. For English speaking customers, we were quite demanding especially with 2 hungry kids who could...More

Great HK Congee place , definitely must go. though the staff there are not really friendly. they do smile to their old customers but tourists are like a "come eat go" attitude. not the best priced though but i will visit this place again

Good congee joint. They aren't the nicest so don't expect too much if you don't speak English. They have a lot of special meats but I just went with the sliced fish. One of the better congees I have ever had and pretty cheap. I...More

Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you
will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong
Kong. Not as glamourous or busy as its neighbours Mong
Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma
Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on
their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area
makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in
time. A large part of the neighbourhood draws from the

That should be "Hotel Novotel Hong Kong Nathan Road Kowloon", just across the street. Hotel Rainbow is just around the corner.
