I enjoyed Sushi Hiro 2 times for dinner for a weeklong trip. This is a Japanese sushi restaurant in the heart of Causeway Bay. All fish/shellfish was fresh, delicious and well-served. Ohashi-san was a gracious sushi chef and Joyce provided excellent, accommodating service - the main reason I returned for the 2nd visit.

Always like their sushi. Fish is fresh and reasonably thick. Tried their tempura too which they have a whole floor specialising in tempura (though you may also order other food from their full menu). Tempura batter is a bit too thick, probably in order not to get soggy quickly. The only drawback is the menu is so big with numerous... More

We mixed it up a bit with Yakatori and Tempura. This was not good. Stick to the sushi. We avoided the premium sushi set as being too expensive at HK300+. This was almost certainly a mistake as the sushi we had was good. Overall our meal was a three but we think that's because we didn't just stick to the... More

Outstanding place to have sushi , possibly the best in this part of Hong Kong. Excellent stuff , does not need a long review for you to just go and indulge. Great quality and great food. If you happen to sit where the masters are preparing the sushi , just watch the love and care and the passion with which... More

my favorite spot for fresh and quality sushi lunch. always satisfying with the chef pick sushi sets / 16 pieces set. very reasonably priced lunch set comes with steam egg , miso soup, cold appetizer and fruit. ingredient is a lot nicer than those rotating sushi restaurant. reservation is a must.

Most The seafood is from Japan ordered the chefs assortment of nigiri (10 pieces) and wow the botan ebi is so good and the ikura had no fishy taste, normally I don't like ikura but the ikura from hiro is amazing. Don't get me started on the chutoro it looks like otoro but it is chutoro and it melts in... More

Will never disappont you, if you want to try real fresh Japanese sashimi or sushi, this should be the one. They have 2 restaurants, I always go to the Causeway Bay branch. Always sit at the sushi bar, and must inform when you made reservation that you want to sit in front of Master Lai one of the head chef... More

Thank you Hiro San. What a wonderful food experience at the serving counter. I have never been disappointed by the quality and range of flavours at your establishment. Let the head chef choose your menu and let go....

We booked a table at 12, said we had to give it back at 1.15. Ordered sushi, came after 50minutes while everybody was getting served around. Totally messed up the order with seemingly random sushi even though we had ordered by the piece (and no it was not omakase either). After 5 min eating and with a plate half full,... More

I am a frequent customer in this restaurant for more than 12 years ~ serving both set meals or a La carte menu in the afternoon and a La carte menu at night. Set lunch offers are consider cheap HK120~$220.Yet, quality provided not as good as before, I think because of the price, they changed to lower quality food being... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
