We ate Dinner before leaving for the airport. The wait staff was very helpful and friendly and the quality of the food was very good. All prepared and presented well. This is a good option for less formal dining in the wonderful MO hotel. It did get busy later on and service slipped a little as it was more difficult... More

This is a very choice venue for lunch or high tea. We had the latter this time. You can choose a full set or just individual dishes. Coffee is superb. Service is professional although a bit hard to get hold of to add to the order. Apart from the iconic Peninsula Hotel in Kowloon (where the wait can be punishing)... More

It's easy to get a seat on Saturday evening. My hubby ordered Hainan Chicken Rice and i ordered Fish with Tom Yum Kong soup. I specifically told the waiter that I don't like it too salty and don't want salt sprinkled on my fish. Unfortunately, i did taste some sort of a pinch of salt on the skin of the... More

I have been here many times for breakfast and lunch so this was my first dinner. Convenient as I am staying in the hotel. The quality of the food is good and the price is reasonable. The French fries are to die for! The main had some strange mixture of things - I had the veal and it came with... More

In the classic Mandarin Oriental fashion, Cafe Causette is charming. Staff are friendly and menu is uniformly solid. I am a very, very, VERY frequent visitor here, both when a guest at the hotel and otherwise. I have two points which keep me from awarding a higher rating. The first is that on nearly every - EVERY - occasion I... More

Excellent cuisine, just excellent. Regardless of whether you go for Asian or Western, everything is very good. This is better if you are pressed for time, small and efficient place. Convenient to exit hotel via airconditioned walkway to next building. There is something for everyone on the menu, including for kids.

At the Mandarin, you are paying for the name, the service, and the location. The fact that the food is quite decent is a nice bonus. The Causette is a case in point. This "coffee shop" is Hong Kong's power breakfast headquarters. The menu offers the panoply of HK breakfast options from omelettes to hash, to congee to dim sum.... More

This is one of the places to be seen eating breakfast in Hong Kong but its popularity is mystifying. It is charmless and the robotic service is a far cry from what the Mandarin was once known for. Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
