As non vegetarians we struggled to eat the meal. All reviews were positive so we went in with open minds and hungry bellies, ready to be converted. Unfortunately for us, it didn't tick boxes. The stir-fry, mushrooms and desert thing were well presented and looked...ok. The soup was very unappealing. We were very aware it was monastery food and conscious of the beliefs and ideals - ie non-wastage. We put this down to an experience and donation.
Restaurant as expected was basic, and service was quick despite there being a number of different groups.
For the record, we spent time in a Buddhist temple in South Korea and the food there was also strictly vegetarian, however much more palatable.More
