The foie gras was to die for, so rich but we had to order another plate. Flavours are good, service was prompt. On a side note, it is definitely a little too overcrowded and when you're spending enough money on a special dinner you don't want to be pushed up against strangers...

Went there with 2 friends. No reservation possible, so you can expect queueing for some time. But plenty of options in the neighborhood to share a drink. Once you're in, loud music and excellent tapas make it for a great time!

We went for dinner on the understanding we couldn't book, but seeing as there were only 2 of us, we thought we would give it a shot. Luckily there were 2 seats available. It is a very cozy place so if you don't like listening to other people's conversations then suggest you don't go here! Also not sure how a... More

By far the best place for tapas in HK, located on a nice little street in Wan Chai, First come first serve so get there early for a seat. A bit of a squeeze inside but if the weather is nice you can sit outside also. Quite creative but filling tapas, open kitchen to watch the kitchen team prepare, fresh,... More

22 Ships on Ship Street in Wan Chai is one of the group of restaurants offering menus influenced by British chef Jason Atherton. This little bar is a fantastic place to enjoy Spanish influenced tapas and good wine, beer or cocktails. No bookings - so you may have to wait for a space to come free. We went early on... More

Nice and cozy restaurant, I let the picture of the food speak for them self. But I can mention that the iberico ham that came with the pallea was super crispy and good 😄. The beef tartar was also very good :)

Over past years I went here a couple of times. The menu did not change much which can be a good thing if you are looking for the classics like me me. The bikini with truffle, cauliflower and the marshmallows are always on my menu. If you are looking for some new dishes then most of the time the specials... More

The no reservation tapas bar 22 Ships has become one of Hong Kong hottest tables since opening in October 2012 - offering an eclectic menu of modern tapas, served in a buzzy yet relaxed setting, and a dynamic list of sherries, wines, spirits and Spanish beers. Using the best of both European and Asian ingredients, Michelin-star Chef Jason Atherton and 22 Ships’ Executive Chef Lee Westcott bring a modern touch to traditional classics. Westcott, who has strong a Michelin background and has worked with acclaimed chefs such as René Redzepi at Noma, was Head Chef at Tom Aikens Restaurant in London before taking up his role of leading the kitchen at 22 Ships

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
