What a nice park and its restaurant! All vegetarian, but of the finest! All is made fresh and the selection if wide. Easy to reach with the subway to Dimond Hill and a short walk.

Blessedly, Chi Lin's vegetarian food is so muchore than the normal soy meaty imitation of meat. They have truly vegetarian dishes, and a diverse selection. Start with the five fortune platter, a great way to try a bunch of different things. The soup is excellent...as well. Try the rolls with seaweed, and the ones with milk for a great sweet and savory combo. We also had the dim dum, and recommend it. For dessert try the cashew milk with peach gum, it is devine. The prices at Chi Lin are a bit high, but remember is all going to the temple. 🙂More

Had a solo set lunch after a walk in Nan Lian Garden. I know this restaurant is used to have long queues but luckily I didn't have to wait (I arrived at 2:15 on a public Easter holiday) and the best table was given to...me. It faces the waterfall and watermill, views excellent. I ordered the lunch set containing a stew soup, an beetroot salad as appetiser, soya sauce panfried beancurd rolls, a sweet sour wheat gluten with pineapple hot dish, three slices of melon/dragon fruit, as well as a bowl of rice. The food is ok, not very good or impressive though (except the soup which is without MSG and really good). The price is affordable at HKD150 all inclusive. I appreciate the atmosphere and setting most. It's inside the Nan Lian Garden which is full of great Chinese architecture and elegant gardening around. Having a meal here in this restaurant marks a perfect ending of my visit at this garden. Staff ok and helpful, polite. Overall, worth a try and it makes my visit at the Nan Lian Garden even more memorable.More

I came here with a lively group of new friends and we had a truly fabulous time. The 7,30 p.m. session featured amazing vegetarian dishes, especially the quinoa and truffles based fried rice. Quite stunning. It was great to be able to share a whole...lot of dishes with friends. The ambience is so special , too- with the tinkling waterfall and the beautiful nunnery garden in the foreground.More

Group of 4, one of which loves meat. I personally found the 'deep fried pumpkin & cheese rolls', and 'quinoa, truffle & asparagus fried rice' to be delicious. We asked the waitress covering our table for suggestions, based on her recommendation we ordered 6 dishes,...our bill came to HK$561 which we found reasonable. I have been back several times with family.More

Location : the restaurant locates within the Nan Lian Garden - one of the most beautiful gardens in HK. Fascinating experience. View : beautiful garden n artificial waterfall view. Cost : minimum charge of hkd120 for weekday lunch. A bit high relatively. Food : ordered...the stir-fried noodles with mushrooms. Taste wise: it’s not my favourite - inadequate seasoning. Service : satisfactory. In all, recommended as the net proceed will be used for management of the Nan Lian Garden; not really associated with the food or ambience.More

It was unfortunately a very rainy day but still we enjoyed very much our visit to the Nunnery and the gardens. Lunch at Chi Lin vegetarian was very special. We were seated at the 2nd floor. We highly recommend you insist on a ground floor...table if there is one or wait for it. There you have the waterfall experience. We ordered the 5-dish-appetiser. Very good! And then we had the mushroom noodles and 2 types of dumpling. All very tasty. Kids loved the noodles! There is a minimum amount to be spent which we missed at the beginning and led to a minor discussion but was quickly sorted. Good to discuss that small children shouldn’t be counted as 1 individual/adult in the total to be spent.More

As I’m veggie we have been eating the main evening meal in veggie/vegan restaurants. Hubbie doesn’t mind as long as the food is good. He wasn’t disappointed at CHI LIN. Having had several veggie meals in HK - I now know what I don’t like...the texture of + avoid it! Namely monkey ear mushrooms. As I wanted Tofu (braised bean curd) the waitress suggested this with cat tails and spicy sauce. Delish. The beetroot salad is fresh, the Singapore style fried vermicelli with curry was great. Sadly the dim sum was sold out but we did try the steamed veg filled bun. Note - All the food we had ordered was brought to our table as it was freshly made so came out at different times. They serve hot tea with your food. Looking around the room this seems to be what most of the locals drink. Along with the free tap water. I should have taken note better! I ordered, what is to date, the most expensive hot water and lemon drink. 45 HKD - unreal! That and the minimum order of 150 HKD means this wasn’t a cheap meal but it was well worth it. Cool setting in the park. Nice clean toilets too.More

We arrived at the restaurant at 350pm and the last order for noodles and dim sum was 345pm. The waitress told that we could not order the noodles since it has passed the last order time and the Chef has left. We had a hard...time to order to the minimum order as everything was out of stock or sold out. If you would like to have minimum spending of HKD80 each, there should be food choices for your guest. Daily soup that we ordered came cold. The red bean puff came cold too. Very disappointing service and food range.More
