Wonderful old style decor comfortable arm chairs, wood panelling, leather banquets; almost a gentlemen's club feel. Comfort food done extremely well. We enjoyed a crab pot and the house specialty Tikka Masala and a Rogan Josh. The service is exemplary your needs are anticipated and everything is unobtrusive. Willie was fabulous. The restaurant is cosy and doesn't seat many but... More

Good old fashioned English style restaurant. Great ambiance and a bit of a HK institution. Food is pretty good but very expensive, 1800 HK$ for lunch, 2 course without alcohol for two people. This is one for your expense account! Service could also be better.

Very old school deoration and services. You can always expect the best. Consistent food quality, services and atomsphere. Lunch without reservation can be difficult, but make sure you avoid the lunch peak time. visiting around 11:45 is safe. Only a few tables, bar area is also recommended. Red wood decoration with vintage lamp and painting makes you feel like old... More

Tikka chicken, cooked with tomato, butter, yogurt and aromatic spices, basmati rice was outstanding. The warm wooden paneling makes for a clubby atmosphere. Services are impeccable. We dined here upon our arrival from New York. It was precisely what we needed after such a long flight from the US. Our favorite part was Dominic, a 5 star host extraordinaire. We... More

If you get a bit tired of Chinese food, you can come here for a delicious Indian meal. The service and drinks are also wonderful. The elegant bar and booths give this restaurant a cozy, intimate feeling. We loved the ambiance, the food, and the service!

I came here hanging out a bit, have some oysters... Unfortunately I arrived an hour early and the kitchen wasn't open yet. But after discussion with a barkeeper he asked back in kitchen and they prepared some great oysters before their opening. What a good service they have!

Utterly flawless Mandarin service from the moment you set foot into the hotel. Very popular at lunchtime! The roasts are very good but the Indian food is outstanding. The cod madras is particularly delicious. Very cosy atmosphere and a lovely little bolt hole in Central.

Description
Named after the famous British artist George Chinnery, The Chinnery enjoys a relaxed club-like atmosphere with deep upholstered armchairs, green leather banquettes and warm wood panelling.

Offering a laid-back alternative to our fine dining restaurants, The Chinnery specialises in traditional British cuisine with classic dishes such as bangers and mash, fish and chips, and steak and ale pie available for lunch and dinner.

Home to one of the world's largest collections of single malt whiskies, The Chinnery has over 100 varieties for guests to try. We also serve chilled draft beer in custom-made silver tankards by a veteran staff who know many guests by name.

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
