We loved having Ippudo ramen when we were in Shanghai and Singapore, and I wanted to have a good bowl, so we decided to come here. It is quite a large place with many seats. In case it gets crowded, there is a number dispensing machine at the entrance. My bowl of ramen was pretty decent, though the broth was... More

We went to the Hakata Ippudo two times the last week and I enjoyed the Ramen there. The Black Curry Ramen was completly different in taste and the broth was really, really deep black ( but you can use a protection sheet against spills/drains). The next day I got a classy tonkutsu (pork broth) Ramen with thick noodles. They tasted... More

We were warned this place gets busy during lunch and after work, we managed to get a table for 8 around 7pm. The ramen was 'ok' I had a black curry ramen (trend is currently to use charcoal) it was okay, but mainly a novelty dish, that leaves your teeth black and shirts stained (yes please use the bibs provided).... I've always enjoyed ippudo ramen and feel they are 1 of the best . Today i may have ordered the wrong dish. They have a "causeway bay special" ramen and i got duped into ordering it. Upon tasting, it's no more than overly thin pork slices in a different broth. I prefer the original ippudo. On hindsight , this dish... More

Always bringing something new to accompany the classics. The Kuro ramen is rich and spicey making you want to finish all the soup too. Even vegan choices like plain steamed vegetables to complete your diet.

Made my usual visit to Ippudo across from Times Square, to have a steaming bowl of ramen in 30C weather. I was their first customer on Wednesday and promptly ordered their "Kuro" ramen and their spicy "Wafu" fried rice. The broth, the noodles, the toppings, every element working in unison for an excellent bowl of ramen. You gotta try it!

This chain is pretty famous outside japan. The lines in Singapore are still long after 10 years. Here in HK, not so much The noodles and broth are still good, and so are the gyoza service is spotty. The waiter is friendly. The waitress has a PMS or RB face and didn't bother to place our beer glasses on the... More

Stopped in for lunch the other day with a co-worked. After a quick review of the menu which is pretty basic, we were able to place our order and have it served fresh and hot shortly there after. Since it was lunch time and busy, the staff were being fast and efficient so for some they may come across as... More

Having visited many times, this place is always solid, good food and drinks, great ramen and baos. The service lacks somewhat.

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
