My wife and I recently had a late lunch (around 4pm) at Ho Hung Kee while exploring the Hysan Place mall. Ho Hung Kee is located at one of the upper floors (12/F) above the eslite bookshop and the food court. You can either ride on an express elevator or take the slow way up the multiple escalators. When we... More

Highly recommended for the Wanton Mee and Congee at this restaurant. Totally worth the wait. The queue is quite fast if your party is between 2-4 pax.

Had a couple of congees and some dim sum there. They were excellent. Service was very good too. Nicely lit place too. Price wise it was slightly expensive. Seems good for families. Loved the bits of orange peel in some of the dim sum. Had the prawn dumpling, beef siew mai, XO fried rice cakes, rice cakes with crispy dough... More

This one Michelin star restaurant was highly recommend for its wanton noodles. We couldn't resist taste testing it so we booked in for early lunch. It turned out to be a good idea as a queue materialised after we received our table. The decor was an unexpected white walls and furnishing with contrasting seats in a shade of turquoise. Service... When we found this (the lifts and elevators in some of these buildings are confusing) we took a ticket as is common in restaurants here and we're seated within 5 minutes in a busy good Friday evening. Tea served immediately and then had a leisurely very tasty meal. We all had some sort of noodle dish. The service was excellent.... More

For a place as famous as this, they do not make it easy to find. 12th floor? Why this elevator only goes to 10! Ah, thats because you need to go up several floors on the escalator and find the elevator that goes to 12. Took me several tries, but I found it. If you are solo or a couple,... More

Always visit here when thinking of congee. Famous for congee and noodle with 1 star Michelin until 2017. I like congee here because it so smooth and delicious. Basically I don't really keen on congee but here is exceptional. Fried noodle and rice also good. Dim sum also available and tastes good as well. Chicken feet and steamed ribs are... More

Awarded a one star in the Michelin guide for their superb wonton noodles, which is the best I ever had. The history of this place goes back 70 years. The original location is closed down and now you can find Ho Hung Kee on the 12th floor of the Hysan Place. Do keep in mind that the English name is... More

My family ate lunch at Ho Hung Kee while walking at Causeway Bay. The wanton noodles were over expectation because my son and I finished eating all within 3 minutes. My 2 daughters and my wife ate fish porridge, pork porridge and chicken porridge and they also enjoyed the 'you tiao' also known as Chinese cruller. We never expect to... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
