We really looked forward to having authentic food here. Unfortunate we were very disappointed and in fact left hungry. The space overlooks the Victoria Harbour so that's nice. But the food was slow to come and those that have any kind of food concern (ie gluten or vegetarian) were out of luck and served very oddly considering all factors.

I have lived in Hong Kong for four years and whenever we have out of town guests we always take them to a Saturday/Sunday brunch at Hutong. The atmosphere is good and the view of Hong Kong Island is breathtaking. The food is great and easy manage for non-Chinese travelers. That said, it passes the credibility test with local and... The table, the view, the food, wine and service were all excellent, a very pleasant surprise for a city group restaurant. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a really good meal - which is after all the first criteria. Everything else was there too and not as expensive as it might have been. Well worth it.

Visited on a week night with a reservation. The restaurant offers a dimly lit atmosphere with a beautiful view of the HK side. Serving many spicy dishes, everything we ordered was very well made and nicely presented. What stood out were the crispy lamb and surprisingly, the salty yolk tofu. Razor clams were also very delicious. I really enjoyed their... More

I was thoroughly impressed with my dinner experience at Hutong a few weeks ago. It was recommended by our hotel and not too difficult to make a reservation. Most of the food has added spice and heat compared to traditional Chinese food. If you ike spicy food you will like this place. The view of Hong Kong is also lovely.

We had a delightful dinner overlooking beautiful Hong Kong and the light show. The food was really good and we had a beautiful window seat that just made the evening magical. The only draw back was the wait staff who seemed to want to rush us along at every turn. We arrived at 6:15 and left at 8:15--totally within the... More

Went for a big business dinner and we had a party of 16. And unfortunately we couldn't sit together. View was really stunning. Sichuan food a too spicy, even for Chinese. Very busy environment and noisy. But the staff tried their best to help. Extremely expensive set-menu. In reality, couldn't really remember much about the food. The whole memory was... More

A great place to come with friends and family on Sundays for buffet. There is a large array of delectable chinese dishes to choose from. There is also a counter where noodles and dumplings are cooked for you there and then, with your choice of vegetables and accompaniments. We always opt for the champagne buffet allowing for infinite servings of... More

Tried it without reservation for lunch. Had an exceptional lunch with nice views over Kowloon and Hong Kong. Fine Chinese dining. Contemporary, but very Chinese decor. Do not forget to visit the toilets. Completely in style.

The views and front of desk service make a visit to Hutong a worthwhile experience. We had initially booked to do the Aqua Luna/Hutong combo deal but we missed the Aqua Luna's departure from pier 2, having gotten a bit lost! We made our way to Hutong to at least get our meal and we were seated and sipping our... More

Description
Reminiscent of an ancient family courtyard in one of Peking's fast disappearing hutongs (courtyard houses set between narrow lanes), Hutong's interiors are set against the most breathtaking skyline of any international metropolis. This is not the only surprise. The sense of adventure and sheer avant-garde creativity continues in the innovating cuisine inspired by the culinary styles of Peking and Shandong province.
