after looking for it for 5', I found this place tucked away on the 2nd floor of a building with a tiny entrance. inside the view is good over the commercial area, the staff is attentive, food is good and prices very reasonable for the area!

Had dinner, food was ok. To much colour was used in the food. Interior is not at all attractive. Only thing to consider is it is cheap.

The ambience could be improved but the food was very good! On the first floor a small restaurant. It was a pitty that they don't serve alcolhol but the excellent food was the best compensation.

A small restaurant up a couple of flights of stairs. It looks like not much but the food is fabulous. Lots for vegetarian options and friendly staff. We've been twice now and it was busy both times. We'll go again too.

Aladdin's Mess was one of the highlights of my trip to Hong Kong. I ordered the brisket vindaloo and was impressed by the taste. It was very spicy, but also delicious. The naan bread and rice that I ordered in addition were equally delicious. Definitely stop by if you're in the area and looking for quality Indian at a fair... More

First off, this isn't a restaurant really. As the name says it's a "mess". So this review is JUST for the food. Otherwise the place is noisy, your neighbours sit besides you and the place is crowded with everyone too busy. But the food is delicious!! And looking at the crowd, it seems they do it consistently enough. Price is... More

I ordered the brisket vindaloo (requested very spicy), butter naan bread, and a mango lassi. The naan was buttery, chewy, and plentiful enough to last through every bite of my vindaloo. The brisket vindaloo was spicy enough to make me sweat and pant (that takes some doing), yet they still managed to make the individual flavors and spices jump out.... More

I searched on trip-advisor before coming to this restaurant. I knew the location but it was a bit hard to find. When I had the food, it was worth looking for it! The food is good, price is fair. When I sit, they immediately offered me a glass of water, very caring staff.

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
