A couple friends and I went here for high tea and were not disappointed. The ambience was amazing, the service attentive and the food delicious. Even though they have a set menu, they were willing to replace the meat items with vegetarian ones (substituted the sausage roll with an extra scone and the salmon and ham sandwiches with cucumber and... Breakfast in this establishment is sumptuous. Outstanding, old world, simply excellent. A bit pricey. If you go, go with a healthy appetite and indulge. Services impeccable and oh so attentive. Gluten free.

Had the seafood dinner buffet in the Clipper Lounge and was impressed with the extensive seafood selection available. There is a range of other dishes available to cater for everyone's tastes and the dessert buffet has many options to choose from. The staff are very attentive and helpful and our used plates were cleared quickly as we were at the... More

Our table sat in between a lot of tables which means we have difficulty to get in and out. I order the Hainan chicken rice which is their signature dish. I order a dark meat which suppose not tough. The chicken were too dry. The chichen portion was very small. It looked big at the beginning and found out a... More

Whilst staying at The Mandarin we went down to breakfast at 09.30 to face a restaurant close to meltdown. For $350/person plus tax we enjoyed the privilege of standing in a queue for 20 minutes waiting to be seated whilst other people at the other entrance (so we discovered) pushed themselves forward to secure tables. Once seated we spent the... More

On a recent trip to Hong Kong, I dropped by the Mandarin Oriental for a bite to eat. Frequent readers of my reviews know I'm a huge fan of MO, especially the Singapore MO so I was excited to experience the original MO if only for a short time. It was late afternoon and not typical dining hours so I... More

Pleasant enough experience. Nice calm atmosphere to chat over tea and cakes. We arrived a little early for our reservation but waiting staff were very accommodating seating us at a free table immediately. Service was generally very good, again staff offering some flexibility. We asked for some vegetarian alternatives for the finger sandwiches & they offered alternatives without hesitation. Selection... More

We had gone there many times before, food and service was always excellent, but last time we decided to ask them if they could prepare gluten free pancake for us (as there are such a big selection of food there already, we used to just skip all the bread and pancake/waffle section). And it was the best gluten free pancake... More

Came with my son and young grandson for Sunday brunch. The service was very good, the grandson was very well looked after and the food was excellent. The coffee was very tasty too, worth a visit but not cheap.

Stopped in for lunch after shopping. Service was excellent and the food was very tasty. Wine list is adequate but not extensive. Would return.

Whether it's Sunday champagne brunch in Hong Kong or a 5-star dinner buffet with the family, the Clipper Lounge is where the city's social elite come to meet.

While popular for breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets, as well as our Sunday champagne brunch Hong Kong locals love, the Clipper Lounge is best known for afternoon tea. Elegantly presented on silver stands, the spread includes delicacies such as finger sandwiches, sweets, scones and our signature rose-petal jam. We also offer extremely popular seasonal themed teas, taking inspiration from the worlds of fashion, art and culture.

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
