Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Caribou restaurant had a great menu and deals but the best was their bhajias. Classy white restaurant.

We were rushing from Mamba village with kids exhausted and were looking for full course of meals as a dinner. It is understandable we were very nervous and I was quick to look at the menu. The guy told us politely to be seated. Looking...at the menu my first impression was that no food would fit my strong desire. However on the waiter's recommendations, we had a very tasteful swahili coconut fish accompanied with nice rice, cheap, ugali and we left as a happy family. The restaurant looks very basic but they have an expert hand to prepare very tasteful for a hungry stomach.More

The restaurant has amazing food especially their biryani and seafood dishes are notably exceptional. The downside however is that a lot of the items on the menu are constantly unavailable so the restaurant should update its menus and sometimes the food takes a while to...be served.More

Average food with average service. Beef skewers were tough so we returned them and they replaced them but alas again they were tough and not to standards around the city. We returned these again but they still charged us

Came here for a snack, tea and desserts after spending the day at Bamburi - enjoyed the food, cakes/pastries and the Masala Chai - Waiter was super friendly and efficient - The death by chocolate dessert was so good I did not want to share...it with anyone! The food, which was cooked to order, did take a bit of time - however, that is par for the course......coz it isnt fast food!! ;-). - Even the masala chai (stronger brew, no sugar, a bit more masala etc) was made according to our taste !! No airs or graces, basic good food with friendly service in an unpretentious cafe/ restaurant.More

This place is in a good location with a lot going for it. We have eaten here twice and both times are frustrated by the long wait. The food, once it finally comes, is usually pretty good. However, by the time it comes, we are...so ready to leave that we wolf it down and beg for the bill. If you have no agenda and just want to sit, talk, etc, then this place offers good food. If you are pretty hungry, go somewhere else. We waited at least 45 minutes for our food to arrive both times we have come. That wouldn't be so bad, but most of our food has been simple things like salad, garlic bread and chapati. Again, once it comes it is good, but the wait makes us hesitate in coming back.More

I was at Caribou in 2010, and I loved it. When I came back to town, we hoped to remember the fond times we had there over coffee, milkshakes and cakes. The selection hasn't changed much; that's okay. The service though is seriously wanting. The...burgers and bhajias were on point. Generally, good but declining.More

It's always good to come back home and have a good taste for real food, and this is definitely one of the places for it. We always have to make a trip down to this little hub for some good old Indian snacks that fill...in the gaps hours before dinner time. Maaru bhajia and dhaal bhajia take the credit for this. Steak sandwiches are also cooked to preference of how well done you'd like the meat to be. Other snack options are also available too. Definitely a good visit.More
