I have visited this restaurant several times. Their product misx is constant. They have awesome swahili dishes. Their shawarma and zanzibar pizza is unmatched. However, their restaurant tables are old, their chairs look cheap and worn out. Their floor is stained and the outdoor tent...looks unkempt. Worse than that is their islamisim. They don't serve food over luch time during Friday prayers (ridiculous). They also remain closed during fasting periods, not even providing take aways to non-muslims. I think that's ridiculous.More
Our meal here was one to remember for sure. The inside was very cozy and comfortable, and the food was great! Their kaimati were very delicious treats, and their Irio was a very tasty light meal. Overall a great place to sit and chat with...friends.More

''.. For the best Chicken Biryani in town, one should pop in this oiginal swahili food restuarant. You won't get dissappointed, try it money well spent ..''
Delicious food with great spices and sauces. I took kebabs and kebabs several times. Everything was delicious. It is an inexpensive place with excellent service. And they bake bread themselves. Hot from the stove. Since the restaurant is located in the Arab part of the...city, beer and alcohol are not sold there, but there are very tasty juices in the assortment. Will definitely come back more than once. Thank you for the delicious food.More
Ate here while at the coast and could not pass up the shawarma and the biriani. Nice atmosphere that is in line with the coastal feel. I was here for a while and I have documented the same on my blog: Dees Travels
What was a highly anticipated visit turned out to be a mistake of my life. What greeted us was an eery sickening smell, but we decided to ignore this.but as we were sat, opposite us was the premises security guard eating across the table but half...the time staring at us.Along with the owners friends with the owners friend idling at the entrance and also staring,it makes for an unusual set up ,,the floors were dirty with used , wet tissues strewn all over.there were literally no clients.the say what may go wrong, goes wrong.we thus ordered for mshikaki and chips.the order was served fast.the mshikaki was dry, chewy and not fresh with a powdery after taste.the chips was very oily.I could literally see residues dripping on my plate.when the bill came, I was charged 280 for the mshikaki..I repeat, pieces of beef for 280. When I questioned the billing, the cashier carefully laughed and said there's no place I can get mshikaki for 150.yet 5 minutes ago I had been at Barka eating fresh mshikaki at 150 a pop. To cut the long story short,my fiance threw up 50 minutes away on our walk back to our room.I almost threw up too but I didn't. I would dare you go to this filthy place if you think my experience is any bit fabricated.More
many of the dishes on the menu were not available, the beef shawarma pocket was small and dry, the pilau my wife took was just average. nothing special really, but i will give it another chance later on.
