As I write this at the moment, my husband and I have a very long day and wanted good breakfast, the thought of mushroom sandwich and a double cappuccino was on my mind and we decided to visit this place. We reached and found around...three large table setups and one table for two which I opted for but was directly under the sun, I decided to pull the tables to an open space under the shade and this tall, dark waiter calls me from a far "ssss" I looked and he told me not to pull the tables, I told him I wouldn't want to sit under the sun, and he literally commanded me to not change the set up as it is and opt for a different table, I looked around and only saw tables for many(family) the waiter told me is social distancing, I didn't understand how I was spoiling the social distancing when I was pulling the table away from other tables only that I didn't want the early sun hit us directly... I felt very bad because he didn't opt to come close and talk to me or help me, yet calls me "ssss" then talks from a far, other guests looked at us listening to our conversation and I found it very very very rude and unprofessional!!!! Considering that I love going there mostly for breakfast for their mushroom sandwich, cappuccino, masala chips, pizza and my husband enjoys their faluda milkshake.... I am not happy with this kind of service!!!!!More
So I ended up getting the chance to go here again as I had not gone there since 2010 when I used to go for shisha and food I had the opportunity to meet the staff and/or owners and they treated me like gold and...took care of my every request. They advised me that they don’t offer shisha anymore as the kenya government has now banned it so I had the chance to try their other items from their menu. I tried their hummus which I really wanted to try as I always look for good hummus like on the level of 7west hummus I would say that this place is on that level. I tried their perri perri fries and there ginger tea which both items were so good and well worth it They also made this delicious birthday cake which was recommended by their staff as I told them I wanted the death by chocolate and they told me it would be to heavy for my kid because she’s only 7. Whatever the case was it was definitely a superb cake that everyone loved who was lucky To try it because I got this for a surprise for my daughter so I paid a little extra and had it delivered to my hotel which was so convenient. This place gets two thumbs up keep up the good work will definitely recommend to anyone if they ever go to mombasa. The only thing I would say they could improve on is to accept credit cards because sometimes people may not have local currency with them and just for added convenience.More
We had a lovely experience at Cafe Mocha. Lovely food, clean, good service and amazing waffles. Definitely going back!!
I loved the pastries from Cafe Mocha, they were fresh, tasty and well done. It definitely a great hangout place. They make all kinds of pastries, cakes and their Coffees and Hot chocolate are also amazing. My daughter loved the fries with the chili pepper...sauce. The service from the staff was also good. It's a place worth trying for an afternoon snack or breakfastMore
My family and guests from England had wonderful vegetarian brunch on sunday morning at the famous Cafe Mocha where the food, faloodas, freshly made garlic sauce, Milkshakes,juices,ice-cream etc and not forgetting the excellent service. Steven Kyalo and Dickson Musyoka were outstanding as they served our group...with care, respect and promptness. Ms. Riziki was brilliant in preparing the heart-winning faloodas. Great place to celebrate any joyful occasions. Subhash Modi - A Former International Cricket Umpire.More
Have been coming here for the longest time. Ordered the chocolate chip cookie Sunday - it was obvious that substandard ingredients were used to cut costs. Cheap ice creams, wafers, chocolate sauce and cookies. Shame since the place markets itself as a desert café. Don't...know I'll be coming back here.More
i love this place cause you can go any time. if you love cakes that the place. i coffee aroma will invite you. i also like the pizza and the natural oils they well. they also have salad s and awesome juices.
Located inside the Nyali cinema complex and tucked away in a corner. It was definitely worth a visit for a quick brunch. The passion faluda was just awesome. Together with some masala chips and garlic bread, just perfect.
Cafe Mocha is a bistro/patisserie style eatery (albeit NOT a cheap one), conveniently located right next to the only cinema in Mombasa town- Nyali cinemax. The fare largely consists of Italian crust vegetarian pizzas, chips (a variety of 3 or 4,the peri-peri is my favourite),...cakes (mostly of a chocolate orientation),sandwiches, a range of vegetarian snacks (go samosas and spring rolls), signature drinks (a lot of Sprite and sugar is involved) and a newly revamped breakfast menu that now includes waffle treats. They don't mess around with meat at Cafe mocha, it's all about the veggies! While I go there regularly (because I enjoy a number of staples and the sheer convenience of the place),I have always been and continue to be put off by the attitude of the proprietors towards their staff (who are very pleasant and helpful btw) and their customers. They come off as rude, standoffish and absolutely nonchalant towards the patronage they receive, EXCEPT, in my observation towards their own ethnic group. As a breakfast and light meals option within Mombasa, it is one of the very few places that is open from early morning to late evening, convenient, well located and has a reasonably good selection to order from.More
The service and food standards are absolutely amazing. Such a huge variety of vegetarian food. Excellent selection of deserts too.
Every time I go here I have to order the cakes and milkshakes. They are simple and amazing. And the service is amazing too.
This place is wonderful for a number of reasons- 1) It is totally vegetarian which is rare in Mombasa 2) They offer a wide variety of healthy options eg options for a diabetic person 3) They have excellent service - the waitstaff and management always...go the extra mile to ensure that you're comfortable 4) You can call to order ahead which is super useful if you're in a hurry 5) Their bakery section is unreal- super fresh and tasty 6) It's conveniently located and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed esp in the afternoon/ early evening. I go there at least biweekly to get bread (and other treats lol). Also- try their cheese nachos- I'm totally addicted! Give it a go if you're in the areaMore
Had hummus and falafel before our visit to the cinema. Very happy with our choice! If you just want coffee and cake it looks like a fantastic option
