Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Jahazi has a lovely, calm atmosphere and excellent food. I had the coconut fish and it was delicious. The coconut sauce was very coconutty. The Swahili chai was amazing. Fun to be there with a group of friends in one room, sitting on cushions. We...had a great time and the prices can't be beat for all the food we got.More

Was looking forward to some good coffee in Mombasa. The turkish coffee I ordered wasn't really turkish coffee, and pretty gross.

Went to this coffee house a couple of times while on holiday. The Iced Swahili Coffee they serve here is fantastic, very refreshing. The food is also impressive, particularly their fruit salad. Fresh fruit and a bowl big enough to share. If you're ever around...old town in Mombasa, take a break here.More

I came across this cafe' by chance, on a torrid afternoon as I was looking for shelter, a drink and some rest. It was love at first sight with this very typical Swahili establishment. The ambient was great, and so was the coffee, so I...went back dragging some Nairobian friends to let them feel some Swahili vibes. I was there on three occasions, and tried a number of dishes and drinks. All very homely and tasty. Definitely a place not to be missed in Mombasa.More

Jahazi Café is located at the old district of town and is a very simple authentic place to chill while visiting. I only had a juice but I heard that their food is also nice.

Good atmosphere and a relaxing way to spend your afternoon out of the Mombasa heat. My fiancee is vegetarian and they made a special dish for her without any issues. The coffee is also very good

A nice cafe with a full menu for a hearty meal. Try their signature Swahili coffee, made from brewed local coffee mixed with spices.

I love this place. The people are very friendly. You should definitely try the Swahili coffee. It’s a coffee with spices like cinnamon.

A beautiful building and great sitting area are a nice place to take a break from the exciting, winding, hot streets of Mombasa and take a Swahili coffee and sit back.

Jahazi moved! I remember walking down the street to find their old place occupied by a small sewing collective. The betrayal I felt was second to none. I was afraid that their new place would be... well, new! It was, but in a good way....It was a breath of fresh air. The new Jahazi is just down the street from the old one in a delightfully crumbly little building nestled near a general goods store, a furniture carver and a residential street. The soul of the place has not changed though the rooms are larger and more airy. Their food is just as fresh as it always was and their kahawa tungu just as ... tungu? lol! You can still gallivant about barefoot right into the kitchen to stay hello. I love this place.More
