The local traditional restaurant serving meats to meat eaters, is featured with the too much hot spices. It is located at Kasr El Ainy street, a walking distance from Tahrir square and the very centre of Cairo. The staff were found friendly, with trendy local standards.

The restaurant is clean, staff is friendly but this is all the positive points I could notice. Service is extremely slow and main dish was served for each of us separately, with 10 minutes lag. Food is just ordinary, not tasty however very expensive. The overall experience is poor.

We came here for lunch after visiting the pyramids and Sphinx. The view is amazing and the air con is much appreciated after a hot morning admiring the sights. The service was quick and friendly and the food was yummy my children loved the rice in a shape of the pyramids.

Most folks go to Abou Shakra for the pigeon or beef or lamb dishes. Pigeon is most popular among the Egyptian diners. But my preference is the roast duck. It is cooked perfectlly - not greasy or too crisp, and the portion is quite generous. I usually like to have the cream of tomato soup as a first course, followed... More

We were taken here as part of a tour of the city. I normally try and have the tour guide take us somewhere, Its their business reputation so the place tends to be good and safe. Started with fresh hot breads and dips and chargrilled veg. We tried between us, the Lamb, chicken and fish. One in our party is... More
