Lovely visit with great staff that speaks the language, even locals visit the shop for their traditional and long established Samgyetang!

Something I have been longing to try to Korea and when I did, it's superb and delicious. It's a bit pricey but considering the ingredients they put in the soup, you expect the resto price to put a price on it. The chicken is very tender, juicy and perfectly cook. The soup gives you the needed warm during the autumn... More

The black chicken soup was nice, and I found it very tasty. People have to realize that not all food needs to be Uber salty or spicy to be tasty. However, the price is high for what you get.

I have visited this place few times in the last 6 years. It is getting worse and less. Before I could hardly finish the bowl, tonight I had to go and buy snacks, as chickens they are use are very fit and lean. Quality and taste nearly same, but more salt now added in the broth. Also you hardly see... More

Wanted to try the Ginseng chicken while visiting Seoul and this place was quite close to my hotel. Ordered a black chicken ginseng soup (black chicken is tenderer than the white chicken). The chicken is tiny with sticky rice stuffing. Enough for one person, no need to order anything else. I've read some reviews saying people find the chicken soup... More

It is an ideal place for travelers since it is in the center of the most crowded shopping street in Seoul. The roasted chicken is quite plain, so it is better if we have more sauce (not the provided salt). The ginseng chicken is good. Chicken meat is tender. No so many ginseng inside. I cannot smell the smell of... More

There were msg, I drank lots of water during and after having it. Chicken was dried and a bit cold. I had to ask to re-cook longer. And they were recommending their signature black chicken soup which costs Krw 25k to every customer and primarily spoke mandarin. I felt it was overpriced, rated, valued and tourist trap. I was quite... More

The restaurant is located on 1 St floor in the heart of Myeongdong The signature dishes is the chicken soup. Quantity is enough for one person to eat & benefits of the body to make more warm especially in winter season. The cheapest one cost 15000 won.

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighbourhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighbourhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighbourhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighbourhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
