While visiting Tbilisi,my friend and I asked for a restaurant where we could seegeorgian dance.Locals suggested in the shadow of Methekhi.I must confess I had the best night of our trip.We enjoyed eating the very delicious dishes, watching awesome Georgian dance, listening to nice singers with outstanding singers and finally dancing with others at the restaurant.I also can add the fantastic view... Heard a lot about this place, so made a reservation for dinner there. The view, the location, ambiance, food, service and entertainment all absolutely amazing. One of their servers Natia, beautiful young lady. She was absolutely helpful from suggesting wine to helping me arrange a little birthday surprise for my lady. They have these beautiful traditional Georgian dance performances and... More

I would like to highlight the fact that I was only in the restaurant 10 min, the time it took us to ask if there was no other room with such a loud music. We have nothing to complain about as we booked a table (10pm), and I guess that's late for this restaurant, music was like in a disco... More

Traditional Georgian food, entertained with live music and all the time there was also a wedding party going on. We tasted several dishes and the food was fresh and tasty. Loved the grilled chicken in cranberry sauce. Took a flamed split banana as desert. Top quality. Even the oak wood chacha tasted better then most Scottish single malts. I will... More

I've been to this restaurant a number of times over the years and it seems that the food is only getting better. Some of the best things on the menu is Quail Chakhokhbili, the tomato salad, the cheeses. There is also entertainment that features traditional singers and dancers that starts at 8pm. The music is a bit loud to talk... More

Great atmosphere of Georgian hospitality, delicious and soul. The first restaurant is different from similar restaurants its music program (including Georgian dances) and beautiful views. Location too far from the center, in the quarter "Avlabari". The kitchen is good, cleanliness respected. Service is fast, portions are large. For dessert assortment of nuts, dried fruits, etc.

I award this restaurant 5-stars based on its setting, its atmosphere and on our all-around experience there. "In the Shadow . . . " is perched atop a cliff on the outskirts of Tbilisi, and you look down on the Kura River, having originated in the South Caucasus Mountains and now sluggishly making its way through Tbilisi and toward the...
