After reading some of the recent review , it is hard to believe we were talking about the same place . Service was ok but slow at times , however in their defence , it was busy/full . Recommend te prawn tempura , agadashi tofu , tuna sashimi , chicken terrriyaki --awful steak was a bit chewy . Prices were... More

By noumean standards it was pretty good remembering nothing is cheap here. Still playing loud Christmas carols a short CD on repeat on Jan 9 and not overly friendly but overall an enjoyable experience. We don't eat sushi or sushimi but tried prawns with vegetables, 2 serves of gyoza, karage chicken, vegetable tempura and 2 Sundays to finish. It was... More

Food was terrible to the point where some dishes were not edible. Some seafood served was not fresh, tempura was soggy, sashimi was slimey and butchered into random sized bits. Service was average at best and prices are extremely expensive (aud40-50 for small serving size mains) even for Nouméa standards. Would highly recommend another establishment.

To say the food was average is being generous. We went on NYE hoping to end the year with a nice meal but it was one of the worst meals we have ever had. The first course consisted of cold duck meat and the third course had a terrible combination of bitter melon, mango and prawn - which did not... More

We had dinner over there for a birthday and we had a great time. Great food for a reasonable price. The staff was very professional and friendly. Recommend it !

Located inside the Meridien, this small restaurant has an authentic feel to it. You could just as easily be in a small restaurant in Tokyo. The food is standard although quite good and fresh. The service is excellent. If you crave sushi, this is the place to go in Noumea.

During our recent stay at Le Meridien we ate three times at Le Shogun , I had the TEMPURA TEISHOKU on the first visit it was excellent so good in fact I had it on the other two nights I visited. Tempura is a hard dish to get right but this certainly hit the spot each time.

Portions too large, no Japanese style, just hunks of fish and an indescribable assortment of vegetable or salad accompaniments. The wine list is disappointing and over priced.

Went there two times during our holiday and enjoyed both times. Casual enough to take children ( well behaved!). Yummy food and prices whilst not cheap are ok.

No kids menu meant we needed to buy the kids main meals, which certainly wasn't cheap. But putting the staggering cost aside, we tried the sashimi and sushi and found the variety good but the freshness lacking. Being in the pacific you don't have to go far to get amazing fresh fish so there's no good excuse for the fish... More
