With good pour-over places dedicated to regional coffees, with a bit of a search you may be able to get better coffee near a Juan Valdez, but Colombia has yet to be overrun by indie coffee shops offering freshly roasted beans extracted to perfection. So Juan Valdez is a decent alternative

You can have a good experience, drink a good coffee but the prices are very high. The drinks are good, but food (empanadas) don't impress me.

The concept was copied from Starbucks but Starbucks says explicitly it's Chai latte (which I don't like), Juan Valdez doesn't + they force cinnamon even when you ask without. They do not refund. I give them a 2 only because my friends moderately liked the coffee.

The coffee, the ambience, the side dishes, all were simply amazing. The whole experience was wonderful and I'd spend quite a few evenings in this cafe.

I love the way Colombians used to make coffee with, just regular coffee.I dislike very much a strong coffee, I grew up drinking smooth delicious coffee. Here in New York is quite difficult to find a place were the coffee contain is not overpowered, just right....most of the time coffee is prepared as expresso / European style. It seems to me it... This place is Colombian Starbucks. Bogota does not harvest coffee, and local people say that coffee in Bogota is not that impressive. Go somewhere else if you want to have high quality luxurious coffee.

This is a must try place, like their version of Starbucks. I would have liked to be able to put cream in my simple brewed coffee and drink it the way I like it but there is no such thing here. FYI, Juan Valdez is a fictional person, just a brand. Great marketing!

We stopped here on right before our free graffiti tour starred as it was meters from meeting point. Nothing special average coffee and pastries but they have WiFi.

Except that the coffee is much better. These shops aren't nearly as ubiquitous as that US chain is in Vancouver, but you'll usually stumble across one in your rambling. We enjoyed their coffee made with pods on many occasions. If you are a coffee lover, try to locate one of their Origen stores. They are their specialties shops.

But with better coffee. As Starbucks you will see many people using this area as an office with the free WiFi.
