We visited with another couple and opted to create our own tasting menu. We had four or five dishes with a bottle of wine and enjoyed it a little more than having the restaurant deliver their own tasting menu. We would recommend this place.

A very unique restaurant in Jerusalem that serves biblical-inspired dishes! Lots of great options on the menu so you really can't go wrong.

It’s unfortunate, but it seems that this restaurant has become more of a tourist trap than an enjoyable high-end dining experience. Staff was friendly, but very stressed out with the high volume of visitors and turnover, thus making the experience for the guest unnerving and...extremely impersonal. The food, while decent, is far overpriced and the restaurant itself is tired and messy. I would recommend giving it a miss/pass. There are better options by far in Jerusalem.More

Very lovely ambience in a great part of Jerusalem that is probably under-visited: The Artist's Row across form Jaffa Gate in the old city. TheChefs sampler was a great choice. We ot the cheaest one with "only " 8 courses. But there was plaeanty of...food and varienty an at the end you can reorder any of the dishes you wanted. That was amazing!More

This restaurant was a huge disappointment. It has pretensions of excellence that are sadly missing in virtually every way. Most importantly, the food was mediocre at best. It was a special evening, as at the age of 71 we were celebrating our first wedding anniversary....We had the nine course tasting menu, of which only the appetizers were even mildly interesting. The cauliflower and eggplant dishes could have been served at least as well in a bet cafe on Emek Refaim. The main courses were mostly meat stews, including a brisket any housewife would make on shabbat, a lamb that was almost entirely gristle, bone and fat and a supposedly Lebanese chicken that had virtual no spices or herbs, which would embarrass the great Lebanese cooks I've known. Even the desserts disappointed - a coconut ice cream that had no taste of coconut. The sliced rib eye was very well prepared. OK they can grill. Surprisingly, the service was also greatly disappointing. Most of the waiters literally threw down the plates saying things like 'slow cooked beef.' and walked away. Often I had to call them back because I didn't hear or understand their three word description. No explanation, no encouragement. We almost never care about prices, but for the quality of the food, this dinner, at over $300 was a huge overpromise.More

Highest recommendation. The Eucalyptus is a charming terraced restaurant in a quiet lovely setting only a short walking distance from Jerusalem’s major hotels but a world away from the noise of the city. You most likely will see Celebrity Chef Moshe Basson as he wants...to ensure all of his guests experience Israel’s finest traditional and fusion cuisine. Impeccable service. Make a reservation—you won’t be disappointed.More

We went for an early dinner and ordered the tasting menu of 12 dishes. It was superb - each dish was creative, while maintaining the authenticity of a Middle East cuisine. I particularly liked the eggplant with tehini and pomegranate sauce, which was delicious and...all other 11 dishes were equally pleasing ( although by the final 2-3 dishes we were quite full and could only taste a small sample from each ). At the end of the meal the owner-chef walked through the restaurant and thanked each guest, which I thought was a nice gesture. We would wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Eucalyptus during a trip to Jerusalem.More

This place is not cheap- and therefore, I expected more in terms of the details. For example, simple printed paper menus should be a fresh sheet for each guest, not an oil stained wrinkled piece of paper!! That’s annoying. The silverware is cheap and scratched....The tablecloths are sun bleached and the napkins are cheap paper. Then the drinks came and they were not attractive and not strong- no garnish and not enough alcohol. The waitstaff was nice but often not around when we needed them and not the most professional…. Having said all that, the food is actually very good. Not the best, but very good. The music is excellent and creates a pleasant atmosphere. The waiter came around with flavored arak shots on the house TWICE - nice touch. Prices are comparable to NY restaurants but since there’s not much else around you feel like you’re in an oasis in the dessert with exciting food that plays on themes and twists the classics. Overall- I recommend it.More

We chose eucalyptus as the place to celebrate our sons bar mitzvah with family. We had a group of 13 with a variety of tastes. The food was varied, the wine was good, and there was a lot to eat! We had ribs, salad, eggplants...and more. Service was excellent. The culmination of the night was a paella main course. The chef/owner came out to personally serve the meal and did a presentation ceremony for our son who recently had his bar mitzvah. Loved our experience here and highly recommendMore

We really enjoyed the delicious food here in a perfect terrace setting on a summer’s evening. The restaurant is outside the city wall of Jerusalem below a new park on a beautiful artist’s lane which has been created with tall grape vines and other plants...adding to its beauty. We sat outside and enjoyed local dishes, the highlight being an Aubergine and beef mince which I loved. Staff are friendly and flexible throughout and the food is excellent. Highly recommended.More
