Typical Turkish cuisine at its best We have always came here for savory food whenever visited Istanbul. Try stuffed aubergine, stuffed stripes, Parda Pilaf and of course their lamahajoun. A real must to visit

Besides the cab drivers, this is the only bad experience I had in Istanbul. What a disappointment too, because I was so excited to try it. The experience started off good. We were able to get a table, and our server came up quickly to take our order. He brought us our drinks, and some bread with a cheese dip.... More

Sample ottoman food or kebab from across the street (Ciya kebab). Very interesting menu indicating even the location of origin. but dishes were pretty rough in flavor, the pilaf in my opinion overcooked. Paradoxally, the best dish was their iskender kebab from across the street. very cheap.

Unbelievable range of authentic traditional dishes, most of which I hadn't even heard of before, let alone tasted. Everything we tried was delicious, including the vast range of fruit/vegetable-based drinks. My advice would be to go with plenty of time, several friends so you can maximise the number of dishes you can try, and really take the time and effort... More

Lets continue to taste local kitchen of Turkey. " Bulgur rice" boiled pounded wheat with green lentil is a good alternative to rice as a side dish with anything or alone as main dishes. Also "Çiğ kőfte" can be done using pounded wheat & pounded meat mixture together hot spicy pepper kneaded by hand is different taste as a side... More

First of all the people in the restaurant were mostly looking like regulars. The staff were friendly. The menu had two components: daily specials and the all timers. The food was nice but no need to exaggerate. Kelle paça soup was nice, but the waitor asked me whether i wanted hot (pepper) and garlic, and my soup was too hot... More

We were brought here by a guide. It's a lokanta and serves delicious home style food. Our lunch at Ciya ended up being one of our best meals in Istanbul. We had about 6 different things. Definitely add this place to your list for Istanbul - I wish we had the chance to go back.

I was brought here by local guys and I enjoyed so much the food. Everything was typical and delicious. At a first glance the restaurant can be not that inviting but just walk in, choose your food at the counters and wait for a culinary experience. All the dishes look like prepared by expert hands. Highly recommended.
