Located in heart of Istanbul Sultanahmet, maybe 100 meters from Blue mosque. Cheap, quality and tasty food!

Prices are not expensive compared and with ingredients and portion. And cheaper than other restaurants (at same level) nearby. Do not order too much because they'll serve you big portion every dish. Service is very good. Staffs are able to speak English. Don't miss to have a table on rooftop where you can see view of the Blue Mosque. ร้านนี้ไม่แพงราคาดี... More

This place had 5 - yes, 5 - Chinese groups in when we were there (though to be fair, it can more than cope in terms of space). They do what they do very well - mainly pide (strangely, none with egg) and köfte/skewered meat things. The atmosphere is lacking, the staff and service are scruffy, but you will eat... More

If you are in Istanbul you must eat at Doy Doy to experience genuine Turkish food and service. The staff are very helpful welcoming and honest. The food is delicious and plentiful of variety. You must try The Kabab. At lunch you will get authentic turkey dishes. We love this place.

On a cold night, we were glad to find this excellent small restaurant near our hotel in the Old City. Food was very good, quickly served, and the management was very friendly and accommodating.

First place we ate at upon our arrival at the adjacent hotel. Ordered a lamb casserole with naan and cheese pizza with vegetables. We were served initially a Lavas (a type of puffed up hollow bread) and then came our orders. The pizza was nice but the lamb casserole was more like a lamb stew with vegetables and very watery.... This is our second time and istanbul and we have always had our dinner at doy doy. The food is amazing and not once was the food average. It has always been above average. The prices also seem to be 3 lira less on an average on each dish compared to the prices in other restaurants in the samr area.... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
