Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There is nothing very positive to say. tables are very cramped and not clean at all. There is not enough heater outside, you feel cold, you are sitting and it does not taste like exaggeration.

Best Turkish coffee I've ever had, with great service. I recommend the hot cocoa too, it was very heavy and great for winter. You can also purchase coffee powder here.

Among the recently opened new coffee shops, this is small and cosy with an upper floor which is good fro group gatherings. The view is nice and atmosphere is cosy. The service is fast. You can enjoy it in the middle of the historical Kadikoy...Market.More

I had a great day walking around Kadiköy and needed some refreshing so I went to Fazil Bey. The Turkish coffee ☕️ gives you enough pep to get you through your sightseeing travels and has some amazing dessert to try out. The price was reasonable...and it is a great place to people watch!More

Did not change from my first visit in Istanbul in 2007. Very old café, first opened in 1923. On a little street off the very busy pedestrians walk in Kadikoy. Good traditional Turkish coffee served with a glass of water and a piece of Turkish...delights. There is also available to drink Turkish tea and Winter drink salep. Great place with history. There is also possible to buy grinded coffee to do at home as many local people do.More

We love this coffee shop and make sure to have their excellent coffee everytime we visit Istanbul. Last time we went, we forgot our bag behind with valuables (passports and cash) and realized an hour later. We directly went back to the coffee shop to...ask about our bag. We were met by the same very friendly waiter who served us who also kept the bag safely and asked us to count the cash and make sure that nothing has been taken as the area is crowded and busy at night. We appreciate the professionalism and honesty of this waiter and will keep coming back to this coffee many more times to come.More

Found this place listed as a hidden gem in an article by The Guardian. They only have Turkish coffee, tea and lemonade. The coffee is good.

Plenty of guides recommend Fazil Bey as the spot for Turkish coffee for a good reason, but don't just take their word for it. Even if you are on the European side, take the ferry and try out this local favorite! Turkish coffee differs from...convention in the preparation method. Instead of deriving and separating the coffee drink from the ground, Turkish coffee actually derives the drink directly from the coffee ground without separation. The result is a concentrated coffee that is almost as strong as Italian espresso but with more grainy taste from the ground, and I believe Fazil Bey does this well with the ground from their excellent home-roasted beans. The aroma from the coffee in Fazil Bey is an undeniable testament of the quality! Each cup is about 7 TL and includes a piece of the delicious lokum (Turkish delight) from the terrific Sekerci shop. When you find yourself in the Asian side of Istanbul, definitely try this epitome of Turkish coffee!More

A little pricy but worth it if you choose to taste mastic (sakız) aroma. Turkish coffee with mastic is 8.5 TL and served with a small glass of water.

I have bought filter coffee grounds from the other branches of fazıl Bey many times. The coffee I bought from this shop was old and undrinkable. I returned the unopened packages, and the cashier snatched the bags from me and tossed some money on the...counter, giving me a nasty look. There are dozens of similar shops in this area, so why risk an unpleasant experience?More

Very small and nice Turkish coffe shop. You can also buy coffe for the house. If you don't want to drink coffe there is cold lemonade in summer and hot salep in winter. Nice place to sit and watch people on the street

Most of the times when we visit Kadikoy Fish Market, we sit and drink a bitter Turkish coffee here. The quality is consistent. There is no extravaganza; just the plain Turkish coffee. In our last visit, we discovered they also have an isolated upper floor...room with antique decoration.More
