Best place to get real Buffalo sausage and Kaymak in Istanbul. I go about twice a week to resupply. Can't get enough. Also I usually go with friends for the full Turkish breakfast with eggs. Can't believe how much food there is. If you are a breakfast person and are in Istanbul I highly recommend karakoy Ozsut.

I was shocked to come across this Karakoy Ozsut. they are a family business and are operating a water buffalo farm just outside the city and are selling their own products. By the way the food is also very delicious. I highly recommend the full breakfast with sausage and eggs. As an expat living in Istanbul or anywhere for that... More

This diary shop serves fresh breakfasts and diary food menu, which is fully nutritious, delicious and competitive prices!! I'll come back here again whenever I'd have visited Istanbul... From Saudi Arabia with Love :)

If you want to try a real treat for breakfast then head over to Karakoy Ozsut, where third generation owner Hasan will treat you to some honey and cream (balkaymak). The cream is made from water buffalo that he raises on a farm about two hours outside of Istanbul. The taste is something unforgettable.

Kaymak + honey + bread = heaven. The buffalo sucuk sausages springboarded us further into divine realms!

I extended my layover to come here after my brother told me it was the best breakfast ever. It did not disappoint and I came back for lunch. Very friendly staff.

This was the first time I tried Kaymak and immediately love it… kaymak, honey and bread; the best thing for breakfast. The other food I tried was menemen which was just okay. I ended up buying kaymak for home the next day.

The products quality is excellent. Unfortunately the management is struggling to face the new success of the place. Avoid to come on weekend and you will love a wonderful culinary experience! The cheese and cream ( kaymak ) are among the best you can find in turkey and the sausage ( sucuk ) is a great wonder.

Staying in Karakoy

Neighbourhood Profile
Sitting pretty with an age-old air about it, Karakoy is situated on the European side of the Bosphorus at the mouth of the Golden Horn. Perhaps the city’s most historically significant area, it’s currently one of the most happening parts of town as well. Here street vendors and alfresco fish restaurants line the banks of the Horn where the views of major attractions across the water rival Karakoy’s own key attractions, such as the iconic 14th century Galata Tower and the Museum of Modern Art. A major hub for local and international waterborne traffic, Istanbul’s commercial and maritime heritage remains as relevant and evident as ever in Karakoy. Commuter ferries mingle with luxury cruise liners at its busy port, ensuring a continuously cosmopolitan flow of people..
