Good points: 1. The meze plate is awesome! It's a good choice for first time visitors since it contains different types of Turkish food. 2. Pasta serving is huge! 3. Server (forgot his name though) is nice! 4. View is nice and relaxing. Areas of improvement: 1. WC needs more cleaning. 2. Server could have asked us if the cheese... More

We visit Istanbul regularly and always spend time at Green Corner when we are there. On our latest visit, head chef Yusuf excelled himself with some marvellous fish dishes, cooked to order. The fish soup appetiser was full of subtle flavours, including fresh dill. We followed with griddled jumbo prawn kebabs, which came with a scrumptiously crisp and colourful salad.... More

This restaurant is a few seconds away from Hagia Sophia. It faces the street, so while sitting outside you can watch tourists going and coming. The food is average but the menu has many choices. There's shisha also. It is a touristic place, but the location is really nice and very good as a rest stop after a long day... More

Not far from the sights. No alcohol provided. Cuisine is usual. If you expect something special, it is not the right place to visit

A good place to get a quick lunch near Hagia Sophia. There's seating outdoors as well as indoors. Located by a busy street.

The patio here was charming, with pleasant live music, and visits from playful kittens. The mixed meze platter, which included a good selection of fresh vegetables, hummus, and stuffed vine leaves, was very nice, and I enjoyed the vegetarian pizza. The doner platter was somewhat disappointing: the meat was dry, and the rice bland.

The Green Corner is a wonderful place for dining because it gives you the feel of eating in the woods. Situated very close to the Haga Sophia, it gives an awesome view of the surroundings. Although the food is just OK but the atmosphere takes the charm here.

The Green Corner is a great place to have a meal. It's like eating in a forest in the middle of the city. I had wonderful view through the trees of Hagia Sophia from my table. The food is fairly good, not the greatest, but the atmosphere is so pleasant it really is an enjoyable venue.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
