there is a narrative about that meyhana ( tavern ) , as if, there is a huge RAKI fountain, which is not empty yet, but the people who walk in secretly enter bless this fountain. Actually when you enter in you feel a nostalgic ambiance, all the walls covered with poetry, writing, photography for whom visited , and in its... More

Restaurants of this establishment was welcoming and friendly. The restaurant was located across from the hotel we were staying. We ate here twice. If you have the chance order the clay pot. Yummy.

Service was all right and I was absolutely fascinated by the sample of Turkish cuisine I had there. All in all, no problems experienced, my recommendation goes for it.

When we inquired about the portions of the mixed grill, we were promised that one should be enough for 4 people. As a group of five with large appetites, we decided to order 2 mixed grills believing that it would be more than enough to fill all of us up. the disappointment. A portion barely could feed one person, let... More

Very close to our hotel, host was charming and multilingual! He welcomed us for coffee one night and dinner another. The food was delicious, fantastic bread and nice atmosphere with music. The entire crew was nice. Would love to go back.

My friends and I had dinner here. The food was delicious and the staff was so warm and friendly and very entertaining. We ordered a local lamb stew and waiter came with it on fire, then had it on his head, then cracked the pot open to serve the stew. The whole restaurant clapped.

The restaurant was across the street from my hotel and it was always crowded so I thought I would give it a chance. It was probably the worse dining experience of my trip to Istanbul. The food was not good. The waiters seem more interested in flirting and expressing their views of passing women. I was kept waiting to order... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
