Peshawri offers an outstanding dining experience for lovers of authentic Indian cuisine, with a focus on traditional flavors from the North-West Frontier. From the moment you walk in, the rustic yet elegant décor sets the tone for a memorable meal. The open kitchen allows you to see the chefs in action, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.
Their menu is rich with flavor-packed dishes. The Dal Bukhara is a standout – slow-cooked black lentils in a creamy, spiced sauce that’s absolutely indulgent. The Tandoori dishes are also a must-try; the Murgh Malai Kebab is tender, juicy, and perfectly marinated with a subtle hint of spices.
The naan and rotis are made fresh in their traditional clay tandoor and pair beautifully with any of their rich curries. The Raan, a roasted leg of lamb, is another signature dish that’s cooked to perfection – tender, flavorful, and melts in your mouth.
Service at Peshawri is attentive and courteous, making sure you feel welcomed and well taken care of. The portion sizes are generous, and while the prices are on the higher side, the quality of food and overall experience make it worth every penny.

We’ve been wanting to try Peshawri for the longest time and we finally got the opportunity yesterday.
The interior was beautiful and reminded me of Taj Mahal and the staff were very welcoming as well. I really liked the seating arrangement + providing color coded aprons to identify non-veg and veg diners. It’s a very smart thing to do.
We first tried their cocktail, the gentle giant and I absolutely loved it because I’m not a cocktail fan due to the extreme sweetness so I’m very cautious when ordering one and the gentle giant was perfect in every way. It was beautifully presented as well.
We also tried their Reshmi kebab, Murgh Makhani, butter naan and Pudina Paratha. The portion sizes were generous and everything tasted amazing and so fresh. The dishes were so rich, balanced with flavors and most importantly fragrant. I loved their pudina paratha with the murgh Makhani and they also serve a complimentary side of mint chutney: it was so delicious.
The highlight of the day for me was the Gulab Jamun. It had a pistachio paste inside and was so soft and fragrant. The sweetness was perfectly balanced and went beautifully with the other flavors without overpowering one another. It was a combination of heavenly elements. I will keep coming back just for the gulab jamun!!
Special thanks to Dinesh for taking care of us and making sure we had a good time. He was very sweet and attended to all our needs. I’m extremely happy with the service and great hospitality provided by Peshawri.
This is the best Indian cuisine experience I’ve had in Sri Lanka and we look forward to coming back :)

Reviewing Peshwri, exceptional service by the staff deserves the first mention. Not being an Indian food fan, Dinesh and Julian assisted me with detailed guidance on varieties in the menu so we could experience the best. They both were extremely attentive and friendly.
Ambiance had an earthy feel yet comfortable and elegant.
Food was delicious and very filling. I would recommend their naans and kebabs which were very authentic in taste. However, the food menu was a little restricted. Wish they had more options. Beverages were a delightful experience. Their cocktails and mocktails are a must try.

The ambience is excellent as was the server Udumbra The food was delicious but when we asked for a bowl of rice for one of our party who does not eat naan the manager Mr Shahid appeared and explained rice was not in their concept! Although there was a buffet next door in the same hotel and they could have easily sourced it and we would have gladly paid extra for it. The manager then ignored us for the rest of the meal pretending he was on his mobile . Such inflexibility marred our total experience of a meal we paid for in excess of £200 for three people.

During my 4 day stay here in the itc i managed to try out Peshawri twice. The food was lovely, and coming from someone who had treat most cuisines in Singapore, i still find myself amazed by how good the food is. Not forgetting how great the service is, all the staffs were very attentive. You could watch the chefs cooking and the waiters always ready to assist.
My first visit was with my colleague and wasn’t sure what to order. He did most of the ordering but the food came really quickly.
My second visit was two days later, and I was alone. The staff took good care of me tending to my table when it was wobbly. They took to take note that when they were serving me the water, the cup was shaky. Immediately after he took a coaster to place under the table. They even took time to explain what I was eating.

Our experience at Peshawar’s was nothing short of outstanding. My wife was too tired to dine at the restaurant on the third floor, so I inquired if we could order for pickup, as their menu wasn’t listed in the in-room dining options. The staff immediately assured me that they would deliver the food directly to our room, showcasing their thoughtfulness and flexibility.
I ordered the single fixed menu, selecting three starter kebabs—fish, prawn, and mutton seekh. The jumbo prawn was exceptionally juicy, the fish succulent, and the mutton seekh packed with rich flavors. My wife opted for pomfret fish and requested plain rice, which wasn’t on the menu. Without hesitation, the staff made it happen, going the extra mile to accommodate her preference.
For the main course, I ordered dal Bukhara and murgh makhani, paired with two plain rotis—a truly hearty and satisfying meal. The flavors were authentic, the portions generous, and the food arrived fresh and well-presented within 40 minutes.
A delightful surprise came when we forgot about our kulfi dessert. Just as we finished our meal, the room doorbell rang, and the staff delivered the kulfi separately, explaining that they wanted us to enjoy the meal first before indulging in dessert—a thoughtful touch that truly elevated the experience. The kulfi was excellent, rounding off a perfect dining experience.
From exceptional food to impeccable service, Peshawar’s exceeded our expectations in every way. Highly recommended!

I recently visited Peshawri with my husband, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! From the ambiance to the friendly and helpful staff, everything contributed to our delightful experience.
All of the dishes were incredibly tasty, and the blend of spices was fantastic. The staff even provided us with helpful suggestions on how to pair the dishes, highlighting which ones would complement each other perfectly.
I absolutely have to mention the gulab jamun—it was the perfect way to end the meal!
I was so full by the end that I dozed off on the way home, no regrets!
If you're looking for a restaurant that serves incredible food and leaves you feeling satisfied, I highly recommend Peshawri.

Went for lunch and I can truly say it was amazing. The food was very tasty - we had chicken, paneer and nan. Our waiter was Azman, a very well spoken polite young man, very knowledgeable about the food and the Peshwari cuisine. I would definitely recommend it and would go again. The only reason it’s a 4-star rating is because there was no option to have even plain white rice as a side accompaniment which I think is a big mistake (when we asked he said it’s the policy of the restaurant to not include rice on the menu).

Located within the luxurious ITC Ratnadipa, Peshawri offers the finest Indian cuisine I’ve ever tasted. The elegant decor sets the perfect stage for a menu brimming with authentic dishes like perfectly tender paneer tikka, rich butter chicken, and flavorful slow cooked dhal. The butter naan and tandoori chicken were exceptional . I had an amazing experience at Peshawri restaurant. This wasn't just a meal, it was an experience. The breathtaking view, beautifully presented dishes and the impeccable service made it a night to remember. While everything was delicious, the seekh kebab, Murugh malai kebab and the Tandoori jhinga were simply unforgettable. These are the kind of dishes that keep you coming back for more😍. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and guided us with perfect recommendations throughout our dinning journey. We left with full stomachs and happy hearts❤️❤️. Absolutely worth every moment!

I highly recommend this place for an unforgettable dining experience. The staff is incredibly friendly and respectful, making you feel right at home. My waiter, Gayashya, went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. She introduced me to all the dishes, provided excellent recommendations, and ensured I had everything I needed.
What stood out to me was how attentive they were to dietary needs. They asked about allergies and whether I was vegetarian, which showed their consideration for guests' preferences. I also really appreciated how they were so unobtrusively attentive – always there when needed but never overbearing, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
The restaurant serves traditional dishes, and dining here truly feels like a cultural experience. If I’m ever in Colombo again, I will definitely return. Thank you to Gayashya and the team for such a warm and memorable experience. This place is a must-visit!

The restaurant had a different vibe wich was so delightful and it was much wonderful with the view of the Indian Ocean.
The staff were very friendly and helpful towards selecting the items from the menu and explaining the uniqueness of the dishes. Special thanks should go to Gayashya for being such a help.
Food was really good and we enjoyed it so much. Naan Bukhara was a great new experience we had during the lunch. We got a small birthday cake to celebrate the special day and that was too so delicious and felt it was not enough ☺️
