Excellent Service and Great Experience

We had a wonderful dining experience, thanks to the amazing staff. Our waiter, Rangika (if i remember correctly), was excellent—very attentive and professional throughout the meal. There was also a female server (unfortunately, I didn’t catch her name) who was equally amazing, providing top-notch service with a warm and friendly attitude. My nephew has several allergies, and they accommodated him perfectly, making sure every dish was safe for him to enjoy. We truly appreciated the extra care and attention they gave to our table. They also had live music which was amazing. Highly recommend this place for its fantastic service and accommodating staff!

The Coolest Bar/Club/Restaurant in Colombo

I found L.A.B to be my go to place in the evenings while vacationing in Colombo. If you’re looking for good drinks, food, and entertainment under one roof, you cannot ask for a better place than the L.A.B at Colombo Hilton. I was a guest at the Hilton for 2 weeks during Christmas. I must say I had a wonderful stay overall and sure to stay there again during my next visit to Sri Lanka. The facility, food, and hotel amenities were up to five star standards, but the exceptional service made my stay one of the more memorable ones in recent times. I have been to many countries and have stayed at many hotels over the years; however, I have never experienced such a polite, respectful, and efficient service elsewhere. Although the L.A.B is open from 8am to midnight, it usually comes to life in the afternoon with their daily high-tea service, starting at 3pm. The buffet style tea service along with lobby music makes it a very relaxing atmosphere. Alcohol is also served throughout the day to make it even more relaxing for people who seek that. And the evenings usually get better with live bands playing at the bar from dinner time till midnight. I have had the pleasure of listening to some of the best local bands while was there. I would like to shout out Vinuri and Chandral of “The Kings” and Marlon and Joe of “Omega” for your excellent entertainment. Special thanks to Bar captain, Rasika and bartender, Jude for their wonderful service. You guys Rock! You guys are made for the hospitality industry and management should take note of your value as exceptional employees. I would also like to thank L.A.B manager for his service. Best High tea platter in town

Came for High tea on Wednesday. As we entered we received a warm welcome from Manoj at the main entrance. As we went along we were given a table at the LAB. Il start with the constructive criticism and move to the positives. 1. We were a group of 4 adults and 4 kids ages 1,1,4 & 6. We were hosting our friends. (We made the payment online and received 10% off and we didn't want our friends to pay or even see the bill at the end). We got 7 iced coffees. Then naturally we told the waitress that we dont allow coffee to our kids and if the kinds can get juice instead. She said "not a problem but you have to pay extra for the juice" and my guests immediately said no need of juice as a polite guesture as we were the hosts then i ordered mixed fruit juice and said il pay. For eg- Imagine if Mr Manesh is hosting Mr. Kar for High tea and Mr. Kars child can't drink coffee and requests for a alternative and the waitress tells Mr. Kar that he has to pay right in front of Mr. Manesh. Money isn't the problem now is it? (This is just a training point). 2. The iced coffee has been pre poured into the glasses and refrigerated. Due to this the froth of the coffee on the top of the glass has solidified, so the coffee doesn't flow into your mouth so I tilted the glass a bit further and the entire coffee comes gushing out on to my shirt. Please think of a solution for this. If we can stire the coffee this won't happen. Positives are - 1. The quality of the High tea platter was the best in Colombo. It's almost, "almost"! As good as the afternoon tea at The Ritz London which is the best in the world. I know because I worked there. 2. Asst Restaurant Manager Tharindu Saved the day - I didn't even complain after the waitresses incident and yet Tharindu took over the table and looked in to all our requests while managing the entire operation, he's a man of action and less words and his observation skills are really good. Lovely gentleman & amazing brand embassador. Colombo Hilton is by far the best within all the Colombo 5 stars. The comments above are just the finer details which I thought was worth mentioning. Loads of respect to GM Manesh Fernando for He has achieved a diverse team of brilliant individuals who has become a reflection of his values & work ethic. Regards, Zaphnath.

Disappointing night. Tiny dance floor and indifferent service

Went to relax, enjoy the band, some dancing and food on Saturday 28th Sept. Whilst the band Omega was good their music was wasted on the postage stamp size dance floor! It was actually risky dancing on it with our shoes catching on the many uneven joints on the makeshift floor. Also had to dodge the rude waiters (all males) whilst we danced. They insisted on taking a shortcut with large jugs of beer and trays of food across this tiny dance floor! When we requested the Manager to ask them to avoid the dance floor his excuse was that the dance floor is not normally there and that cannot be done. A self important man who was unfriendly! Ordered a Vegetarian Pizza and waited about 30 minutes before it arrived without any mushrooms as advertised in the menu! Mentioned this to our Waiter and he disappeared for a long time and didn't return! Then spoke to the Manager who took our Pizza away without a word and waited another 20 minutes before it was returned with the mushrooms again without a word or apology. This Manager doesn't talk to customers and is highly stressed shouting instructions to staff who seem equally stressed. You get better and respectful service at any roadside cafe. We were served very well with the only lady on the floor, Imesha before she went off duty around 10.15 pm. Unfortunately she wasn't around when we had the issue with the Pizza! She was the only female staff member. She gave us proper and friendly customer service and the only staff member who smiles whilst she serves customers. She should be the Supervisor or Manager here to replace the other incompetent Manager!

Great Food and Hospitality

I needed a place to do some work and get a quick bite to eat. Even though it was a busy Saturday night, Nalaka the Manager made some quick arrangements to get a solo table set up for me in an ideal spot for me to eat and get my work done. I really appreciate him and all the staff that facilitated this. I really enjoyed my Maize sandwich and the strong cappuccino that I ordered. Strongly recommend this place. The food and hospitality is exceptional !

Wonderful service thanks to Neshani

We had a fantastic experience at the L.A.B., thanks to Neshan’s, who took great care of us. We were here to take in the Christmas decor and have a coffee with our very hyperactive toddler, and Neshani was absolutely wonderful—attentive, patient, and incredibly polite. She was accommodating in every way. We truly appreciate her kindness and care. The coffee we had was excellent, as was the milkshake our toddler had. And the complementary cookies were a lovely touch. It was a tad warm as we opted to sit outside - having outdoor fans would help with this. Overall, would highly recommend this spot, especially with such excellent service!

Amazing service and great drinks

I was there with my wife couple of days ago after a hectic day and wanted to drink some cocktails to treat us. We were super exhausted after a long day and as soon as we entered the lounge, the Assist, Manager at L.A.B welcomed us by greeting us in a way we have never greeted before. It was so welcoming and energetic, From that moment onwards he started making suggestions for drinks and also food. We only wanted to drink initially and ended up eating as he suggested few best dishes. As far as I remember, his name is Lahiru and he was so pleasant and helpful throughout our time there. Overall this place is super nice and fairly priced. We really enjoyed our time and hoping to visit L.A.B soon. Thank you everyone who served us and took care of us.

The Amazing Experience at Hilton Colombo

I had a birthday dinner at the hotel and the service was phenomenal. Dinuka served our table graciously and made sure we received our meals promptly with polite service. However the star was Mr Nalaka the Lab manager. One of the most polite and humble individuals who made sure my evening was nothing short of perfect. Props to him for decorating the area as per my requirements and more. Thank you Hilton Colombo , we will be back soon!

Good place to hangout

Four of us went to high tea at The Hilton Colombo. We have ordered two platters. It comes on a three tiered platter and included items for hot savouries and a range of delicious sandwiches.The staff is extremely friendly and warm, always with smiling faces. Mr. Sudaraka was very helpful. Thank you.

Best place to unwind and relax for a quick bite or drink

The Hilton lobby bar is one of our favorite spots to hang out for a coffee and a quick bite or a late night drink. The intimate ambiance is the best thing about the place. The staff is attentive and goes out of the way to accommodate our needs when we go with the family; especially Tharindu. The cocktails, hot chocolate and pizzas are my personal favorites.

Great job, with one especially great waiter "Prabhath"

I was here for a business trip for multiple weeks and I enjoyed the L.A.B bar fully. They have nice seats, good drinks, and great waiters. Especially one waiter, "Prabhath", made it a special time by his attentiveness, helpfulness, and kindness. I would recommend Prabhath to any quality restaurants and hotels as a waiter.

We visit frequently and we always enjoy the exceptional hospitality of Lahiru and the team. Great service, music and of course wonderful food. On the last few occasions we visited, were served by Damsara who was very attentive and caring and gave us an impeccable service. It was a pleasure to be served by him. We always look forward to our weekly trips here. Keep up the good work!
