Lao coffee seems on the whole inferior to Vietnamese Coffee, but at The Little House, we discovered a genuine hot, delicious latte, served quietly and gently, with glasses of cold water. The menu included scones with blueberry jam and real cream, but the coffee was the reason we made a second trip there. Also bought some beans and ground coffee... More

I'm in Vientiane for three days. Almost by chance, I was at The Little House today when Danielle Schiffmann who is currently exhibiting there and at I Cat Gallery gave an artists talk. What delight! This is a beautiful space to spend time in. Peaceful, elegant, inspiring. There are also some well chosen textiles from Laos artisans. The tea was... More

I've been here several times over the past years. Each time I ask why I go back. The coffee (espresso) is bitter, acidic, often has a burnt taste and it's not cheap. Coffee is roasted on-site and sourced from Lao according to the lady in charge. I didn't ask what percentage is robusta. The atmosphere can almost be described as... More

Another gem in Vientiane city, this small little cafe is not very eyes catching so most of the people will tend to miss it although it located within the city center. Beside their cafe, they are selling handicraft, so tourists are able to purchase souvenirs back. The bad thing about this cafe is that they do not have air con,... More

I visited this cafe after hearing they offer baked scones which I love. Much more than expected, the atmosphere of cafe itself was so homey, even nostalgic, and I really loved it. Not to mention, the coffee and the scones were delicious. It may be too relaxing to read a book, you may fall asleep!

Very nice little cafe, great coffee and very quiet. The perfect escape when the heat and business of the city gets you. Can only recommend to try it.

I was wandering down this little street and was intrigued by the house and front garden, not realising what was inside. As I walked closer it was the smell of freshly roasted coffee that gave it away - the best little coffee house in Vientiane! The coffee beans offered to me were either medium or dark roasted, I went for... More

if you've been to japan, you may have been to one of the high end coffee shops where kona or blue mountain or anyone of a hundred other premium beans are freshly roasted, ground and painstakingly filtered, then served in fine bone china, such as limoges royal doulton or other exquisite porcelain, all for about $10 per cup. and worth... After reading the reviews on this place I was very excited to try it out. Not sure what all the fuss was about as it was a HUGE disappointment. First it is not out of town it is slap bang In the centre of town but you wouldn't even notice it unless you were REALLY looking hard. It's a bare... More
