This place is a good introduction to Lao cuisine. I had the pork spring rolls and the fish laab and both were really nice. They were busy but the staff still gave good service. Seemed to be a good mixture of locals, tourists and expats in there too which is always a good sign.

I don't get the negative reviews here. There's a huge range of food from the north and south of Laos. They've got some unusual picks, such as frog and buffalo skin. The food I got tasted great at a good price. Authentic? I wouldn't know, I'm not Laotian. But it was good!

The most of the menu are no spicy dishes even in Laos. If you want to eat the vegetable and if you don't like spicy food, please try it.

Visited after flying into Vientiane - for a quick lunch. Had the fresh spring rolls and the red curry rice. The rolls where fantastic, the curry needed a bit more spice - but the staff gave me some chillies so all good. Fantastic taste. (It was probably flavoured for tourists, they did marked the dish like that - so even... More

The Laab here is a must have. We had Laab several times while visiting Vientiane and Luang Prabang. Lao Kitchen's was easily the best. Everything we ordered was excellent and it was open air and roomy so good for our kids to play a little without disturbing other diners.

We decided to try this restaurant based on the reviews. I ordered the papaya salad without fish sauce as I'm a vegetarian and it came out so bland, they did not substitute it with a vegetarian alternative dressing. The red curry was average. I probably would not be in a hurry to go back.

Dear Alpa S, Fish sauce (fermented or otherwise) is a basic ingredient of green papaya salad. Without it, the fundamental balance of flavours is affected, so yes, the dish will taste different. Not sure what the "vegetarian dressing" is you are referring to, but the substitute for fish sauce would be salt. Soy sauce would not be an appropriate substitute... More

The food was not bad, but it tasted very much like Lao/Thai food for foreigners. Servings are small compared to other Lao restaurants. Not a bad option for those unaccustomed to strong Lao flavors. If seeking authentic Lao food, there are better options.

Not bad but not great either. Prices are a bit higher than usual, service was quite cold when I went there. What disturbed me was this lack of "soul" in that place. Food is ok, the lime-mint shake was great, but didn't feel that comfortable

Lao kitchen offers indoor and outdoor seating, and a menu with an array of lao dishes featuring different meats and fish. There is also plenty of vegetarian options as well. The restaurant front is open and as a result there is no a/c, only fans. It can get quite hot in the heat of the day and still in the... More

We had the pork larp and the red chicken curry. Our first pork larp in Laos and it is still the best that we have had. Really tasty with lots of mint. Red chicken curry was extremely flavoursome - better than the standard dish we've had in south east Asia. Service very good and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.
