I went to The Empire Cinema to see “The Killing Fields“ which they show everyday. The cinema room is small but lovely, you can sit on mattresses on the floor or comfy chairs. Beer is 1,50$, you can get it cheaper in this area but a DAY pass (Most likely 3 movies) is only 3,50$. Acoustic and sound is great... More

We came for dinner, drinks and a movie. The movie The Siege of Jadotville was an excellent choice. The movie room was air-conditioned and we could just lay down and watch. They had Stella beer, which is my favorite "regular" beer, and the food was very tasty, especially the Red Curry. If you're down for a chill movie night, this... More

When I lasted visited The Empire was undergoing a well earned facelift and new paint job. Great movies and friendly helpful service is always on show at the Empire. With so much going on locally it easy to spend the day in and around Riverside.

I went there for the Game of Thrones night. It was brilliant. The sound and picture in the cinema is great. Then afterwards I had food and beers. Great spot in Phnom Penh.

We were quite worried about finding a place to eat in Phnom Penh as there are lots of options. This place hit the nail on the head for what we were looking for. It is a small bar, with tables inside and outside and you have the choice of an East menu or a West menu for main courses. We... More

Great little movie theater to see some movies, chill out with a beer and grab some grub. My ONLY complaint was that they out onions in the Mac and cheese, which is sacrilegious. I love this place and wish we had time to go back!

Hey Jenny! Thank you for the most kind review and I am delighted that you enjoyed your time at The Empire...it means a lot to me and the staff when we see these great feedbacks! Unfortunately we can't get 100% of everything right to everybody's taste but I promise you, the next time you are in town then a Mac... More

Great food, cold beer, clean facility, and friendly staff. The prices were a litter higher than we were expecting, but the food was good. They customized their Khmer dishes for vegetarians when we asked, which was a huge plus. Their curries were delicious. Overall, great place to relax, but if on a budget it is a little pricey. Prices: Draught... More

Hi.... Thank you for the great review and I'm delighted you all enjoyed your evening! Just as a footnote, beers start from $1.25 (but you are correct at draught $1.75) and food from $3.50 up to $11.50 (for the prime tenderloin steak), so I'm hoping we have value for all budgets! Enjoy the remainder of your travels and we all... More

The food was good but the consept a little strange. No starters or desserts on the menu and the place looks more like a minimalistic bar. But food was really good

After traveling for a while all you want to do is just lay back and watch a good movie in a cinema-like environment. The Empire is providing that. The staff and probably owner are super friendly and welcoming, the prices are fair and the movie selection amazing. The menu could use some more vegetarian options.

Looks like a waste of time to go to see a movie when on holiday, but when visiting Cambodia, after being in the Tuol Sleng museum, watching 'the killing fields' in The Empire is really top . Tip : after the movie, walk to FCC , look at the pictures and have a beer looking over the river side !
